HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-05-23 (Special) Meeting Minutes MINUTES City Council Special Meeting Monday, May 23, 2022 1000 Englewood Pkwy – Community Room 6:00 PM 1 Call to Order The Special meeting of the Englewood City Council was called to order by Mayor Sierra at 6:00 p.m. 2 Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Sierra. 3 Roll Call COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Othoniel Sierra Mayor Pro Tem Steven Ward Council Member Joe Anderson Council Member Chelsea Nunnenkamp Council Member Rita Russell Council Member Cheryl Wink Council Member Jim Woodward COUNCIL ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Lewis City Attorney Niles Deputy City Clerk Truscott Reed Assistant City Manager Dodd Director of Finance Loh Director of Utilities and South Platte Renew Van Ry Deputy Director of Business Solutions Stone, Utilities Network Administrator Hunnicutt, Information Technology Officer Falatko, Police Department 4 Presentation regarding Restrictions on Public Rights of Way a) City Attorney Tamara Niles and Mike Sandgren, community member and Chair of Change the Trend, were present to discuss the use of the public right of way and how it may be regulated. 5 Monthly Financial Report Page 1 of 3 City Council Special Meeting May 23, 2022 a) Director of Finance Jackie Loh was present to discuss the April 2022 Monthly Financial Report. 6 Break The meeting recessed at 7:06 p.m. for a break. The meeting reconvened at 7:16 p.m. with all seven Council Members present. 7 Utilities 2022 Customer Survey & Taste and Odor Study a) Director of Utilities and South Platte Renew Pieter Van Ry, and Utilities Deputy Director of Business Solutions Sarah Stone were present to discuss the results from a 2022 customer survey on drinking water quality and the key findings from the Taste and Odor Study. 8 Approval of Emergency Ordinance on Second Reading a) CB 30 - Amending Ordinance No. 15 for the WIFIA loan agreement Moved by Council Member Steven Ward Seconded by Council Member Joe Anderson ORDINANCE NO. 27, SERIES OF 2022 (COUNCIL BILL NO. 30 INTRODUCED BY COUNCIL MEMBER NUNNENKAMP) AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS WATER UTILITY ENTERPRISE, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15, SERIES OF 2022, TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM INTEREST RATE AUTHORIZED FOR A UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY LOAN TO FINANCE WATER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
