HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020 Resolution No. 0331/2 RESOLUTION NO. 33 SERIES OF 2020 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF IN-CAR AND BODY WORN CAMERAS UNDER THE TERMS OF THE STATE OF COLORADO PRICE AGREEMENT WITH WATCH GUARD WHEREAS, Section 4-1-3-1(C) of the Englewood Municipal Code 2000 allows for the purchase of commodities, supplies and equipment under any general bid or purchase contract of the United States Government, State of Colorado or other governmental jurisdiction at the prices, terms and conditions contained therein, when, in the opinion of the City Manager, the prices available to the City through such agreement are deemed to be the lowest and best price available to the City; WHEREAS, on June 1, 2020 the Englewood City Council directed the City of Englewood Police Department to move forward and purchase in-car video, motorcycle and body worn cameras the associated software and hardware, a five-year service plan, integration into the existing CAD and RMS systems and onsite deployment and training; WHEREAS, the City, as a municipality, has the opportunity for a limited time to take advantage of the pricing offered under the State of Colorado Price Agreement NVP-PA-163681, which allows local jurisdictions to take advantage of the pricing structure negotiated by the State through the cooperative bidding process; WHEREAS, the funds for this purchase would come from the Police Headquarters Bond Premium money of which there is $1,021,992.22 remaining; WHEREAS, the cost of the in-car video and body cameras, motorcycle video systems, shared evidence library software and licensing, CAD and RMS integration, five-year service plan, and onsite deployment and training is $622,753.00; WHEREAS, an additional $9,870.00 will be used to install the cameras into the Departments patrol cars by Lighting, Accessories & Warning Systems (L.A.W.S.) for a total amount of $632,623.00 coming from the Bond Premium money; and WHEREAS, the remaining balance of the Bond Premium would be $389,369.20. . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Englewood City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of in-car, motorcycle and body camera video equipment, shared evidence library, CAD and RMS integration, five-year service plan, and onsite deployment and training, in lieu of the internal competitive bid process, by using the State of Colorado Price Agreement NVP-PA-163681 for a total amount of $622,753.00, as set forth in the Watch Guard Quote attached hereto as Exhibit A.
