HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017 Resolution No. 001'"I RESOLUTION NO. _l_ SERIES OF 2017 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE BULLETIN BOARD ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE ENGLEWOOD CIVIC CENTER AS THE OFFICIAL POSTING PLACE FOR ALL LEGAL NOTICES OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD FOR 2017. WHEREAS, the "Open Meetings Law", State Statute §24-6-402(2)(c) requires that the public place or places for posting legal notices shall be designated annually at the local public body's first regular meeting of each calendar year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, THAT: Section I . The official posting place for all legal notices of the City of Englewood for the year 2017, shall be the Bulletin Board on the north side of the second floor of the Englewood Civic Center and such notices shall be posted under the heading "OFFICIAL CITY NOTICES." This Resolution does not in any way of itself create a requirement for notice. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of Janual)'. 2017. RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve a resolution designating the bulletin board on the north side of the second floor of Englewood Civic Center as the Official Posting Place for all Legal Notices of the City of Englewood for 2017. BACKGROUND, ANAL YSIS 1 AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED The OPEN MEETINGS LAW, State Statute § 24-6-402 (2) (c) states that "a local public body shall be deemed to have given full and timely notice if the notice of the meeting is posted in a designated public place within the boundaries of the local public body no less than twenty-four hours prior to the holding of the meeting. The public place or places for posting such notice shall be designated annually at the local public body's first regular meeting of each calendar year." FINANCIAL IMPACT None LIST OF ATTACHMENTS
