HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-03-22 (Special) Meeting Minutes1 Call to Order MINUTES City Council Special Meeting Monday, March 22, 2021 Teleconference 5:30 PM The Special meeting of the Englewood City Council was called to order by Mayor Olson at 5:30 p.m. and held by teleconference . 2 Pledge of Allegiance 3 Roll Call COUNCIL PRESENT: COUNCIL ABSENT: STAFF PRESENT: Mayor Linda Olson Mayor Pro Tern Othoniel Sierra Council Member Joe Anderson Council Member Dave Cuesta Council Member Rita Russell Council Member Steven Ward Council Member Cheryl Wink None City Manager Lewis Interim City Attorney Dorotik Deputy City Attorney Comer Deputy City Clerk Truscott Reed Assistant to the City Manager Dodd, Administration Director of Public Works D'Andrea Director of Finance Loh Director of Community Development Power Director of Parks, Recreation, Library, and Golf Underhill Events Supervisor Arnoldy, Parks Recreation, Library, and Golf Director of Utilities and South Platte Renew Van Ry Utilities Manager of Administration Walker, Utilities Planning Manager Burkholder, Community Development Network Administrator Hunnicutt, Information Technology Page 1 of 3 City Council Special March 22, 2021 4 Monthly Financial Update a) Director of Finance Jackie Loh discussed the monthly financial update. 5 2021 Fourth of July Celebration a) Director of Parks, Recreation, Library, and Golf Christina Underhill, Events Supervisor Toni Arnoldy, and Tri-County Health Department representative Mellissa Sager were present to discuss the upcoming 4th of July event. 6 Customer Assistance Program (CAP) Discussion Update #2 a) Director of Utilities and South Platte Renew Pieter Van Ry and Stantec Consultant Carol Malesky were to present to discuss the near-term and long- term Utility Customer Assistance Program (CAP) options. 7 Utility Monthly Billing Update a) Director of Utilities and South Platte Renew Pieter Van Ry and Utilities Manager of Administration Jennifer Walker were present to discuss the conversion from quarterly to monthly utility billing. 8 Sewer Connector Districts Rate Analysis a) Director of Utilities and South Platte Renew Pieter Van Ry and Stantec Consultant Carol Malesky were present to discuss adjustments to the rate structure for Connector Districts outside of City limits. 9 Break -7:20 to 7:30 10 Unified Development Code (UDC) Assessment Report a) Planning Manager Wade Burkholder and Logan Simpson representative Jennifer Gardner were present to discuss the UDC Assessment Report. 11 Discussion regarding the Potential Sale of Two City Properties a) Interim City Attorney Alex Dorotik and Director of Public Works Maria D'Andrea were present to discuss whether or not they wish to pursue the potential sale of two city properties and the steps in the process. 12 Covid-19 Update 13 Reports from Board and Commission Council Liaisons 14 Council Member's Choice a) Staff recommends City Council approve, by Motion, the selection of a legal firm to provide legal services to the City of Englewood for the next 3 to 5 months.
