Call to Order The regular meeting of the Englewood City Council was called to order by Mayor Penn at 7 :33 p.m. 2 . Invocation The invocation was given by Council Member Mccaslin . 3 . Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Mccaslin . 4 . Roll Call Present: Absent: A quorum was present. Consideration of Minutes of Previous Session (a) COUNCIL MEMBER GILLIT MOVED, AND COUNCIL MEMBER WILSON SECONDED, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 15, 2014. Vote results: Motion carried . Ayes: Council Members Yates, Mccaslin, Wilson, Penn, Jefferson, Olson, Gillit Nays: None Recognition of Scheduled Public Comment There were no scheduled visitors. Englewood City Council October 6, 2014 Page 2 7 . Recognition of Unscheduled Public Comment (a) David Gilbert, an Englewood resident, discussed affordable housing and his support of the housing at the Masonic Lodge site . He was encouraged by Council , but was concerned as to the closeness of the vote taken at a Study Session. He contacted several Council members and was disturbed by some of their responses . He believes that the solution is between government and private financing for affordable housing . (b) Elaine Hults, an Englewood resident , discussed the need for additional street lighting, especially at Lincoln and Floyd . It is too dark and it is dangerous. Some lights turn off early and she wishes they would remain on longer. Council responded to Public Comment. 8. Communications, Proclamations and Appointments (a) A proclamation declaring the week of October 19 through 25, 2014 as National Save for Retirement Week was considered. COUNCIL MEMBER GILLIT MOVED, AND COUNCIL MEMBER McCASLIN SECONDED, TO APPROVE A PROCLAMATION DECLARING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 19 THROUGH 25, 2014 AS NATIONAL SAVE FOR RETIREMENT WEEK. Vote results: Motion carried. Ayes : Council Members Yates, Mccaslin, Wilson, Penn , Jefferson, Olson, Gillit Nays: None (b) An email from Chad Michels announcing his resignation from the Code Enforcement Advisory Committee was considered . COUNCIL MEMBER GILLIT MOVED, AND COUNCIL MEMBER OLSON SECONDED, TO ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF CHAD MICHELS FROM THE CODE ENFORCEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE. Vote results: Motion carried. Ayes: Council Members Yates, Mccaslin , Wilson, Penn, Jefferson, Olson, Gillit Nays : None (c) An email from Tristan Sedbrook announcing his resignation from the Alliance for Commerce in Englewood was considered . Ordinances, Resolutions and Motions (a) Approval of Ordinances on First Reading [Clerk's Note: Agenda Items 11 (a) (i) and (ii) were combined for one motion.] (i) Fleet Manager White presented a recommendation from the Public Works Department to approve a bill for an ordinance authorizing continuation of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Cherry Hills Village for vehicle maintenance and repair. (ii) Fleet Manager White presented a recommendation from the Public Works Department to approve a bill for an ordinance authorizing continuation of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Sheridan for vehicle maintenance and repair.
