In 2007, with strong neighborhood suppon, Englewood C ity Council authorized lhc purchase of Du11can Park from E11gkwuu<l Sd1uuls wi th the int c-n lion lo develop lhc property into a neighborhood park. The purchase of Duncan Park was supported by a Great Outdoors Coloradu (GOCO) grant, an Arapahoe County Open Space (ACOS) gr.int and Arapahoe County Share back Funds . Final park acquisition was completed in 20 I 0 . The develo pment of Dwican Park is supported by the Parks Mas,c, Plan, aJoplc.-d in 2006. Dunc:m Park presently accommodatc.-s ,n average number of park users des pite its aged amenities and lack o f modem park featurc.-s . This is in part due to the lack of green space available in the southcasl.:m region of Englewood. JI is estimaled Uta! 22 ,000 park guests visil Duncan Park annually. The park 1s surrounded by single family residenlial homes. The neighborhood population that Duncan Park serves is eslimatcd at 2 ,621 . This useful lifespan has been deiennined by industry analysis and is documented as a1 industry standard . Th e rrslroom building should have an expected life of at le;ist 50 year s with proper construction, rruiintennnco and silc security.
