lnglewood lo act as the Fiscal Agent on behalf oi the Peace Officer Standards and Training Board
Greater Metro Region Training Committee.
BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED
The Peace Officer Standards and Training Board ("P.0.S.T") oi the Office of the Colorado Allorney
General has the primary :nission to establ ish and maintain the standards for peace officer training
and certification that are relevant, realistic and responsive lo an ever-chang,ng world. The pu,;,-,se
of this Cran I is for the Cran tee 10 assist the State in fulfilling its r~spons,bility of providing
professional quality training programs to Colorado peace officers who risk their lives every day in
th e nornal course ol the,r duties; quality training is crucial for peace officers who are expected to
make quick and difficult health and safety decisions th;it ;ue in the bP.st interests of the citi7.Pnc. of
Colorado and lo the officer; and , therefore, the reimplementat,on of state funding for peace officer
training programs enable the P.O .S.T. board 10 provide substantial training for peace officers who
serve the citizen; of Colorado.
