A RESOLlITlON APPROVING A SUPPLEMENT AL APPROPRIATION TO TIIE 2012
BUDGE'T FOR THE HUMANT:: SOCIETY OF THE SOUTH PLATTE VALLEY .
WHEREAS , the City of Englewood is required by City Charter 10 ensure thal cxpendilures do
not exceed legally adopted appropriations; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Budget was submitted and apprnved by the Englewood City Council in
October 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Humane Society of the South Plane Valley (HSSPV) hns requested additional
funding for their !0 12 upc:ations; aud
WHEREAS, the expendirure could not be foreseen and therefore was not included in the 2012
Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS:
~-The Budget for the City of Englewood, Colorado, is hereby amended for the year

City Council discussed this issue with staff Jt the June 4, 2012 Study Session . Council directed staff

RECOMMENDED ACTION
Staff recommends City Council approve the attached resolution for a su~plemen1al appropriation to
the 2012 Budget to HSSPV operations as follows:

$41,000
$41 ,000
:his supplemental appropriation to 20 12 is presented for Council's consideration at this time
because this expenditure was not anticipated when the 2'.ll 2 Budget was prepared. Tse Littleton
City Council voted to approve paying the HSSPV an additional $41,000.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The General Fund's unassigned/unrestricted reserves will decrease $41,000.
