Call to Ortler The regular meeting ot the Englewood City Council was call ed to order by Mayor Woodward at 7:30 p.m. 2. Invocation The invocation was given by Council Member Mccaslin . 3. Recogn ition of Scheduled Public Comment (a) Colleen Mello, Executive Director of the Englewood Cham ber of Commerce , add1essec City Council regard ing the Chamber's Holida y Parade and their req uest lo have the City waive fees associ..i ted with this event. (b) Roger Hutchings, an Englewood resident, addrnssed the City Coun ~;; reg arding speeding on Englewood 's str eets, es pecially on the streets around the hospllals . Another problern he sees includ es illegal turn s off of Floyd onto Bro adway . Mr Hutchings is co ncerne d for the seniors, thP chil d ren . and the physically cha lle nged aroun d lh es e areas . Englewood City Council November 7, 2011 Page 4 Recognition of Unscheduled Public Comment (a) Le ster Myers , an Englewood resident, congratulated lhe Council members who were reelected. He pointed out that on a lot ol lhe si dewalks, you can 't walk down them because of trash and ove,grown trees . He said it's dangerous for children walking down the sidewalks . Mayor Penn advised Mr. Myers that th e Transportation Board will be discuss ing ltds and encouraged hm1 lo attend the next meeting. (b) Ryan Laird , an Englewood res ident, w~~ls the City lo slop perpetuating m1smlormatIon (on water rates) and 10 acI quicker than 4 months to correct th is misinl~rmalion . He read the e•maII l hal he sent out befora le 1ighl's Council m ee ting regarding t.,e perceived secret vole for the Mayor position and the selection of this position prior to the meeting . He belie\'eS that the future business of the City should be handled in pub lic and not hi:Jden from the public. Mayor Penn said r,e contacted all Council members h d1vidually asking th em for their su pp ort and that tha t was not illega l nor In 'liolalion or the Open Mee.ting laws. (c) Anna Marie Kratzer, an Englewood r~sident, acknowledged everyone who ran in 1,e eleciion and thanked people for voting . (d) Miquel Drake, an Englewood res ident , said he appreciated all th e work Council puts in to runnin g our City and offered his congratula tion s lo th e reelected Council members . City Attorney's Report (a) City Attorney Brotzman sa id the pending topic~ al Ballot Initiatives 2C and 2U will require the need lo set a future Study Session for this . He said these are very complex , much more co mplex than staff originally anticipated, and we will have to repeal a number ot sections Some of lnese will get to a policy issue as we are deleting items so that will require a discussion. (b) Mr. Brotzman staled that ii is his understanding that Code Enforcement is not issuing tickets at this time regard,ng l he RV's . Regard ing Boards and Com m issions, ii is their understanding that you w ,11 finish up your term and then we look 10 see how many terms you have served and if you can ser,e more 01' not. 15.
