RECOMMENIJEI) ACTION The Police Department is recommending that Ci ty Council adopt a bill for an ordinance authorizing the Englewood Police r 1epartment lo accept funding from the Colorado Departmen: oi Transportation (CDOT! in o ,der to pursue projects related 10 traffi c education and enforcement. I have sp oken to Kathy Cassa I, Finance and t been able to locate an ordinance pertaining to this activity . en to Nancy Reid reyarding this issu e and the fact that COOT will not that Is below a $100,000 .00 threshuld. It is my unde rstanding that proceed with our !GA that wlll accept the fur.ding from COOT with out ay be a very old Co~ndl BIii for an Ordinance accepting the funding for the It or Ticket campaign but since we canno t locate it I feel that it shou ld be Included in a future request to Council authorizing acceptance of the funds. I have attached the announcements and correspondence from COOT which outlines their request fo r our participation. My plan would be to prepare one Council Commun lqt,e which would detail the funding opportunltles for this year with COOT. If you ag re•~ with my assessment then we will proceed with the comm unique for 3n ordinance. There is one p:ogram in March which we conducted but I h~ve Instructed those involved not to accept any funding until appro'led by Council.
