(OJ Beverly Cummi ns , an Er,glewood res1de1l said good evening I didn't make ar,y notes or
anvth1ng , but I did call Joe I'm call1rig beca•Jse I'm afraid !hat somebody 1s going to be killed there on th e corner
of Acoma and Danmouth Saturday 11 took me probably ten minutes or more to Just get out far enough from my
corner to g~t across Dartmoutn there The cars are parked clear down to the corner and also on the other side
of Danmouth there And It makes Danmouth very 11ght for one thing And also In the alley , 1f you come down
th e alley . you can't see to get out either way You can't see the stoplight to see 1f its so you can't even get Ollt ·
1n the median So , I would appreciate 111f you would th in " about puttmg m either a four.way stop or a stoplight
there , because hk e I told Joe 11 is an acc1rient lookmg for a place to happen really It 1s really dangerous and I
rea l'y would appreciate something bcmg done about 11
Mayor Woodward said can I Just ask one question here? Does 11 have to do on Acoma when your coming off
Acoma . with the setback of the cars , not being able fo r you from Acoma to see what's coming ? Ms
Cummins said true . true And I did ca ll the pohce and they came out and they did give some tick ets out I don't
know how many or anything But , he dehmtely sa id that was a very dangerous you know, because having
them on ::>oth sroes O?rtmou h isn't tha t big you know. wide to begin with So it's treacherous And then I
came back the c!11er way , ar,d 11 was tr,e same wa y, because with those then on the other side you co uldn't !::?e
to get out far enough on either side to so it's dangercus Thank you

done the bulbs M r Love again spoke frvm th e audience and was directed to a rrncrophone 1f he wanted to
speak Al the microphone. Mr Love said Dave Lee's department. Parks and Recreation . has gone and replaced
the lights that have been out The closest light ,s the one ,n the middle of the park , so it's probably 300 yards
from the parking lot So, 11 doesn't re ally give inuch hght for that area So all of the hghts that were o ut. they
have fixed They have recently . I believe 1n the last few weeks . have gone around and replaced all of th e hghts
in the park , so all of th e ones that were out including the one at Jason . have been fixed Council Member G,1111
said 1f they could look at possibly two I don't thmk one Is ample Being there . I don'! see how one would be
ample for true safety, 1f that 1s what we are looking for If we could possibly consider putting two there , JUSI for
sa fet y reasons Mr Love said actually Rick . the City could save money. because to put the pole In and th~
wiring would be the same The only difference would be that they put two l1ghllng heads on lhe same pole . so II
would be a nominal cost to add that It 1!-. th e same labor to do 1wo as 11 Is to do one So 11 would be hooked to
the same pole So perhaps something y:,u now the pole could havt a hght on both sides wou ld work really
well
Several Council M embers said okay alnght thank you

Municip al Code He sa id as you are aware we rec ·Ned a dec 1s1on from the Court of Appeals m the casa of
Mike Mahaney vs the City of Englewood tnat was ot pos1t 1ve for the City The cou n found that certain se ctions
of :1ur sign reg11lat1ons were unconst1tut1ona l. because we didn 't have a t1meframe for approva l and also lacked
approval cntena fo r murals And so we consulted wtth tr-~ City Attorney's office basica lly with 1hc
quest ion we ll what do we do ,f we get an applicat,on 1n ~i What rules do w e follow . 1f we get an apphcat1 on for a
mura 1n? And after much d1scuss1on we arrived at a fair ly ;.1m;,le solution and that 1s bemg presented to you
tonight The resolution tr.at 1s presented for your :::ons1derat1on. basica lly, enacts a moratonum on the
requirement for anyone wanting to do a mural 1n the City to present, or go through . the special process that the
Court found unconsl1tut1onal What the resolution does ,s put a moratonum c.in that requirement and defers to
the regular process for a sign permit that has a prescnpt1ve l1meframe for review and also criteria for revie w of
that particular type of s1g r. So murals would still be allowed under this resolu11on They would still be subJec: to
the 125 square foot hm1ta1,o 1 that we have now They would still be allowed. should any appl1cat1on come
forward Then this 1s also the six-month moratorium would also allow the P lanrnng and Zoning Comm1ss1 on 10
con sider this as part of the revisions to the sign regulations that they are working on nght now And with that I
can answer any ql.Jest1ons that you may have
Mayor Woodward asked 1f there were questions fc M r Whtie
