HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010 Resolution No. 083• • • RESOLUTION NO . f52_ SERIES OF 2010 A RESOLlJflON AUTHORIZING THE ENGLEWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY ro IMPLEMENT THE ANNUAL "WINTER FOOD FOR FINES" PROGRAM FROM MONDAY , NOVEMBER 29, 20\0Tl:IROUGH SUNDAY, DllCEMBER 12, 201G . WHEREAS , the Englewood Public Library has sponsored a "Food for Fines" pro g;am since 1990 ; and WHEREAS, the "Food for Fines" program all ows patrons with overdue fines to "pay" them off through the donation of non-perishable food items ; and WHEREAS, the food items are then forwarded to th : Interfaith Community services for their "food bank" distribution to financially disadvantaged families in the Englewood area ; and WHEREAS, the progJWl is a benefit to the com.mmity in that the disadvantaged a.,e assisted; the air cleared with respect to fines ; and the City receives its library materials back and the progJWl presents a positive iloage of the Library and the City . The Englewood City Council hereby authorizes the Englewood Public Library's implementation of the annual 'Winter Food For Fines" program from November 29, 2010 tbroug\l December 12, 2010.
