Last year the f und s were us ed in th e Gen er •l Fund and a like amount
wa s t r a nsfe rr ed t o the Pu bl ic Improvem ent Fund. Mr. Mccown stat ed
th e purpose of this hearing was to r ece i ve cit iz e n input fo r the
us e of th e g ene r al r evenu e s h aring fu nds.

ton . She stated f or the fir st six months of 1 982 , s he has s e r ved
3 ,825 meals to approximately 50 se nior citizens in En glewood. Sh e
further sta t ed the prog r am asks $2 .00 a day from r ecipients s i x o f
wh '-c h can not affo r d to pa y a t all,

$8 5 ,022 .65. Mr . Di ede proposed comb i ni ng t h e funds l eft over f r om
thi s bid awa rd a nd the monies left over f r om omi tt i ng Section B
from Pav ing District No , 28 an d wo r k on addit i ona l blocks. Mr .
Diede stated th e c ombi n ation o f mon i es would amount t o $95 ,801.58
and would a llow for approximately 15 mo r e blocks t o be overlay ed or chip sealed .

Mr. Fl eenor stated s in ce his appointment to the Cour t Ad ~isJ ry Com-
mit tee , he has been studying the budget. Mr . Fleeno c suggested
ad di ng another section to each summary page which wo ul d be assign ed
as "contingency". This section wou ld be for s urplus monies. Mr.
Flreno r proposed impl ementi ng this idea in the judiciary depart -
me nt and to revi ew its effectiveness afte r o ne year .
