A RES OLUTl 0N AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF V ARlOUS
PARCELS OF LAND FROM THE ENGLEWOOD URB AN RENEW AL AUTHORITY {EURA)
TO THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO .
WHEREA S, the parce ls involved in thi s trans fer of ownership were acquired by the Englewood
Urban Renewal Authorit y (EURA) in the I 980's in forthcrance of th e Urban Renewal Plan ; and
WHEREAS , the parcels are remnant s of larger parcel s acq uired for redevel opment , drainage
improvements, parking and roadway improvement s; and
WHEREAS , the City bas been maintaJning the parce ls for several years and has alread y
absorbed the costs of maintenance of sucb parcels , and
WHEREAS , tbe EURA recommended the ownership of the parcel s described on attached
Exhibit A, be transferred to City ofEnglewood, Colorado with the passage of Resoluti on No . 02,
Series of 2008 , dated Jul y 9, 2008 ; a,si
WHEREAS, the Englewood Parks and Recreation Co mmission recommended the City accept
ownership of the parcels described on attached Exhibit A, at their regular meeting on November 4,
2008 ;
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD , COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Englewood hereby authorizes and accepts the
transfer of ownership for the parcel s as described on attached Exhibit A hereto , from the
Englewood Urban R :newal Authority to the City of En glewood , Colorado .

A RESOLUTION OF THE ENGLEWOOD URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE DOCUMENTS
REQUIRED TO TRANSFER PARCELS OF EURA OWNED LAND TO THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
DRAINAGE, STREETS AND PARKING.
WHEREAS The Englewood Urban Renewal Authority ("EU RA ") owns ce rtain real
property listed below by Arapahoe County Assessor PPI number; and,
WHEREAS the subject properties are adjacent to public property anrJ fun , :on as
part of publ!c drainage ways, streets and parking and;
EURA ;
WHEREAS the subject properties are not suitable for development; and,
WHEREAS The City of Englewood has hi,rorically maintained the properties; and,
WrlEREAS The Ci ty of Englewood may accept the transfer of the properties from th e

The transfer of ownership of various parce ls of la nd from the Engle wood Urban Renewal Au lh ority
(EURA) to the City was th e subject of Council study sessions on October 22, 2008, November i ,
2008 and December 1, 2008. The statu s of parcels was the subject of Council Requests 08-274
and 08-279 .
At the December 1, 2008 stud y session, Co uncil concurred wi th th e staff recommendatirm ,,,
transfer ownership of the drainage, right-of-way, and parking parcels to the City.

BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED
The parcels iavn l'l ed in this tran sfer of ownershi p were acquired by the EU RA in the 1980s in
furtherance of the Urban Renewal Plan . The parcels are remnants of larger pa rcels acquir ed for
redevelopment drainage improve ments, parking and roadway improve ments.
The parcels proposed for transfer are highlighted in the attache d table and thei r locations are shown
on the attached map . The parcels are use d for drain age, park ing and right-of-way and are Parcels
16, 19, 20, 21, 38, 39, 40, 41 , 46, 4 7, 51 and 53 as shown on the attached map. Parcels not
included in this transfe r are Pa rcels 18 (at El ati and Floyd), 24, 25, 26, 27 (th e Aco ma property) and
29 (s mall parce l at Broadway and Englewoo d Parkway).
The Urban Renewa l Auth ority recommended the ownership of th e parcels be transferred to the
City by Resolutio n No. 02, Series of 2008, <lated Jul y 9, 2008. TI1e Parks &n d Rec reation
Commission reco mm en ded the City accept ow nersh ip of th e parce ls at their regular meeting on
November 4, 2008 .
