AN ORDINAN CE APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD
AND THE STA TE JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT CONCERNING OBTAINING MASTER
JURY WHEEL.
WHERE AS, the City of Englewood has a Municipal Court of
Reco r d and requires members of the community to serve as jurors
i n its Mun icipal Court.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ENG LEWOOD, COLORADO:
Se c tion 1 . That the City of Englewood, Colorado, shall enter
an agreemen t wi th the State of Colorado Judicial Department pro-
viding that the Municipal Court of tpe City of Englewood has
permission to use the Colorado Judic1al Department's Master Juror
List unde r the following terms and conditions:
a) The City must asswne full responsibility for the
use and security of the data furnished by the Colorado
J udicial Department, which data is to be used only for
j ury selection purposes.
b) Th e City will pay the cost of this service, ·estimated
to be about $185 for this year, which includes the
use of the data base and programming time, and if a
magnet i c tape is required, the City will be required
to supply the tape to the Colorado Judicial Depart-
ment's specifications.
c) The City shall select one of the following alternatives:
1) A magnetic tape containing names and addresses of
potential j urors with zip code 80110; or
2) A print-out containing names and addresses of
potential jurors with zip code 80110.
A copy of said agreement is attached hereto as Ex-
hibit A·.
Section 2 . Th at the City Counc i l for the City of ~nglewood,
Colorado, he reby authorizes the Mayor of the City of Englewood

and the Director of Finance, ex officio City Clerk-Treasurer,
to set their hands and seals to the foregoing-described instru-
ment for and on behalf of the City Council of the City of
Englewood.

on the 5th day of January, 1981.
Published as a Bill for an Ordinance on the 7th day
of January, 1981.
Read by title and passed on final reading on the 19th
day of January, 1981.
Published by title as Ordinance No. 11 , Series of

REQUEST OF EXECUTION OF CONTRACT BETWEEN ENGLEWOOD
ANO STATE JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT
Enclosed please find a copy of a contract to be executed binding
the City to certain security provisions concerning the Master Jury
heel. Our intention is to obtain this Jury Wheel from the State
Judicia l Department. We contemplate the obtaining of the Wheel
would result in some savings to the City. Presently, Municipal
Court sends out it's own jury questionnaire and maintains it currently •
e respec tfully request that the Mayor be authorized,·and, in fact,
execute the attached document and have it attested to by the
Director of Finance/Ex-officio City Clerk in conformance with
Section 71 of the Englewood Charter.

Dear Ms. Boettger:
In response to your letter of November 18, please be
advised that permission to use the Colorado Judicial De-
partment's master juror list will be granted to the Engle-
wood Municipal Court if the following terms and conditions
are accepted.
First, the City of Eng lewood must assume full respons-
ibility for the use and security of the data furnished by
the Colorado Judicial Department. Permission will be given
to use this data with the understanding that it will only
be used for jury selection purposes.
Second, the City will have to pay the cost of this
service, which is estimated to be about $185 this year. This
figure incl udes the use of the data base and programing time.
If a magnetic tape is requ ired, the City will have to supply
the tape to our specifications.
Third, one of the following alternat~ves must be
selected:
1. A magnetic tape containing names and addresses of
potential jurors with zip code 80110 can be pro-
vided; or
2. A print -out containing names and addresses of po-
tential jurors with zip code 80110 can be provided •

The 1981 list of jurors is now available. This list is
used to send out questionnaires. The master list of quali-
fied jurors will be prepared sometime in February after
responses to the questionnaires have been sorted. The master
list or wheel may be more useful to you.
If you decide to go ahead with this project, you should
have a copy of this letter signed, as indicated below, and
returned to Keith Stott, Deputy State Court Administrator.
