HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981 Ordinance No. 072,, ,,.,,... ~ • •• •• • ORDINANCE NO. 1 ~ SERIES OF 1981 BY AUTHORITY COUNCIL BILL NO. 81 INT~ODUCED BY COUNCIL MEMBER BILO AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY IN MILLS UPON EACH DOLLAR OF THE ASSESSED VALUATION OF ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, FOR THE YEAR 1982 AND ESTABLISHING A MILL LEVY FOR THE ENGLEWOOD COLORADO DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, it is the duty of the City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorado, under the Charter of said City and Statutes of the State of Colorado, to make the annual levy for City purposes for the year 1981, due and payable in 19821 and WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the estimated valuation of all of the taxable property within the City and the needs of the City for each of said levies and has determined that the levies, as hereinafter set forth, are proper and wise. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, as follows: Section 1. That there be and hereby is levied for the year 1981, due and payable as required by Statutes in the year 1982, a tax of 6.00 mills on the dollar for the General Fund of the City of Englewood, Colorado. That th• levy hereinabove set forth shall be levied upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Englewood, Colorado, and the said levy shall be certified as required by law. Section 2. That under the authority of Part 8, Article 25, Title 31, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973, as amended, there be and hereby is levied for the year 1981, due and payable aa required by law in 1982, a tax of 5.00 mills on the dollar for the uae and benefit of the Englewood Colorado Downtown Development Authority. That the levy hereinabove set forth shall be levied upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all taxable property within the Englewood Colorado Downtown Development Di•triot, and the aaid levy shall be certified as required by law • • /r ·· ~ • • • Section 3. That City Council finds and determines that an emergency exists in that funds for municipal operations are necessary and passage of this ordinance is necessary for the illlD8diate preservation of public property, health, peace and safety, and said ordinance shall become effective inunediately following final passage and shall be published within seven days thereof. Introduced, read in full, and passed on first reading on the 5th day of October, 1981. Published as a Bill for an Ordinance on the 7th day of October, 1981.
