AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ENTITLED 'OFFENSES INVOLVING
CHILDREN', TITLE XI OF THE '69 ENGLEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO CURFEW AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD,
COLORADO:
Section 1. That Sections 5 and 6, Chapter 8, Title XI, '69 E.M.C.,
are hereby amended to read as follows:
11-8-5: CHILDREN NOT PERMITTED ON STREETS
AFTER CERTAIN HOURS
It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of s~x~eeft
~i6t EIGHTEEN (18) years to be or remain upon any street, alley
or other public place subsequent to the hour of 11:00 p.m. or
prior to the hour of 5:00 a.m., except for lawful employment or
unless there exists a reasonable necessity therefor, or, unless
such child is accompanied by the parent, guardian or other
person over twenty-one (21) years of age having the permission
of the parent or gua rdian to have the custody and care of such
child, or by any person between the ages of eighteen (18) and
twenty-one (21) years having in his possession written permis-
sion from the parent or guardian to have the care or custody of
such child; provided that on Friday and Saturday nights, the
curfew hour for SAID children between the ~ges of fettreeeft ~i4t
aftd sixeeeft ~i6t years shall be extended to ii~~e 12:00 p.m.

EIGHTEEN (18) years to allow or permit any such child to be or
remain upon any street, alley or other public place subsequent
to the hour of 11:00 p.m. or prior to the hour of 5:00 a.m.
except for lawful employment or unless there exists a reasonable
necessity the refor; or unless such child is accompanied by the
parent, or guardian or other person over the age of twenty-one
(21) years having permission of the parent or guardian to have
the custody and care of such c hild; or by any person between
the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty-one (21) years having in

Section 2. The City Council finds and determines that the
large numbers of minors congregating on public places and streets
are creating disturbances and causing damage; therefore, an
emergency exists, and this ordinance shall become effective upon
final passage.
