ORDINANCE NO. 21, SERIES OP 1977
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (a) OP SECTION 16, CHAPTER
3, TITLE XV OF THE 1969 ENGLEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE, BY. REQUIR-
ING THE O~lNERS OF ALL PROPERTY HAVING CONNECTION TO THE CITY
WATER SUPPLY TO INSTALL APPROVED WATER METERS UPON THE SALE,
TRANSFER, OR CHANGE FROM RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL OR INDUS-
TRI AL USB.
WHEREAS, the Englewood Water Board meeting in Special
Session of March 29, 1977, recommended to the City Council
a method whereby gradual metering would take place over a
period of time upon the sale or tranafer of all existing
unmetered accounta1 and
WHEREAS, the City Council, havin9 considered
varioua proposals for capital improvement• and the coat thereof
to provide additional water treatment, find• that a gradual
change over to metered service of all unmetered account•
would be in the beat interest of the re•ident• and citizen•
of the City of Englewood, Colorado. ·
NOW, THEREFORE, BB IT ORDAINBD BY THB CITY COUNCIL
OP THB CITY OP ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS POLLOWS1
Section 1 •
That Subsection (a), Section 11, Chapter 3, Title
XV of the 1969 Englewood Municipal Code i• hereby amended to
read as followa1
15-3-161 METER REQUIREMENTS1 .
(a) ALL OWNERS OP PROPBR'l'Y HAVING UN-.
METERED WATER SERVICB SHALL BB REQUIRED
TO INSTALL APPROVED WATBR MBTERS WITHIN
THIRTY (30) DAYS APTBR THB SALB, TRANSFER,
OR CHANGB FROM RESIDENTIAL '1'0 COMMERCIAL
OR INDUSTRIAL USES OP SAID PROPERTY RE-
CEIVING WATER SERVICB THROUGH CONNECTION ---
TO THE CITY WATER SUPPLY. WHENEVER A METER
IS TO BB INSTALLED, IT SHALL BB SUPPLIED
BY THE WATER DIVISION AT THB OWNER'S
COST. The rates for metered service ·shall
be fixed by Resolution of the City Councilr
provided, however, that one bill for all
water used, consisting of the sum of
minimum charges for each meter used and a
single quantitative charge for all water

used, may be issued in th• following
casesz
(1) Where water service i• taken through
a combination of metera, or through on
two (2) or more service pipe•, if water
serviced through each of such meters and
service pipes shall be delivered and used
on the same property holding in the pro-
secution of one (1) general prupose, or a
single enterprise on an integrated hold-·
ing of land, undivided by public streets,
roads or alleys. ·
(2) For all public school•, even though
the meters may be situated in separate
properties.
