HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976 Ordinance No. 029, • • • INTRODUCED AS A BILL BY ~OUNCILMAN MANN BY AUTHORITY ORDINANCE NO. 29 , SERIES OF 1976 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14, CHAPTER 4, TITLE V, OF THE 1969 ENGLEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO ANNUAL MILITARY LEAVE AND AUTHORIZING FULL PAY WITHOUT REDUCTION OF BENEFITS FOR THE FIRST FIFTEEN (15) DAYS THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLE'i«>OD, COLORADO, as follows: Sec t i on 1. That Section 14, Chapter 4, of Title V, of the 1969 E .M.C ., is hereby amended to read as follows: 5-4-14 (a) (b) MILITARY LEAVE Any permanent or probationary employee who enlists or is inducted into the military, naval, air or other Armed Pereee SERVICES of the United States in time of war, shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay for the duration of such war, or until honor- ably discharged, whichever occurs first, and for one (1) year thereafter. Any re9~~ar-f~~~-~'me EMPLOYEE who ~9 SHALL BE a member of the National Guard, ~rlfty, Navy7-Marine-er-Air-Peree-Reeerve OR ANY OTHER COMPONENT OF THE MILITARY FORCES OF THE STATE, NOW OR HEREAFTER ORGANIZED, OR CONSTITUTED UNDER STATE OR FEDERAL LAW, OR WHO SHALL BE A MEMBER OF THE RESERVE FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES, NOW OR HEREAFTER ORG- ANIZED, OR CONSTITUTED UNDER FEDERAL LAW, SHALL BE ENTITLED TO LEAVE OF ABSENCE FROM HIS EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT LOSS OF PAY, SENIORITY, STATUS, EFFICIENCY RATING, VACATION, SICK LEAVE, OR OTHER BENEFITS FOR ALL THE TIME WHEN HE IS ENGAGED WITH SUCH ORGANIZATION OR COMPONENT IN TRAINING OR ACTIVE SERVICE -1- • • (c) ORDERED OR AUTHORIZED BY PROPER AUTHORITY PURSUANT TO LAW, WHETHER FOR STATE OR FEDERAL PURPOSES, may-ee-9ranted-ieave,-net-ee-exeeed- ninety-~9et-daye, BUT NOT EXCEEDING FIFTEEN (15) DAYS IN ANY CALENDAR YEAR eeattend ~iiitary-erainin9-emap.
