HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976 Ordinance No. 053• • • INTRODUCED AS A BILL BY COUNCILMAN MANN BY AUTHORITY ORDINANCE NO. 53 , SERIES OF 1976 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 3 AND 6, TITLE V, OF THE 1969 ENGLEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO PROBATIONARY APPOINTMENTS; AND ESTABLISHING SALARY AND WAGE SCHEDULES FOR GENERAL CAREER SERVICE EMPLOYEES FOR THE YEARS 1977 AND 1978, AND FOR FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES FOR THE YEARS 1977, 1978 AND 1979. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XV of the Englewood Home Rule Charter, and Chapter 10, of Title V, of the 1969 E.M.C., as amended, Memoranda of Understanding have been approved for General, Police and Fire Department employees within the Career Service System of the City; and WHEREAS, the majority of the members of each employee organization has ratified said Memoranda. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, as follows: Section 1. That Section 7, Chapter 3, Title V, of the 1969 E.M.C., is hereby amended to read as follows: 5-3-7: PROBATIONARY APPOINTMENT Whenever a vacant position is to be filled, the top three (3) names on the proper eligibility list shall be submitted to the appointing authority for the selection of one (1) applicant to serve a probationary period of not less than eix-i6t-menths ner-mere-than-ene-il~-yearT TWELVE (12) MONTHS. ~he eri!*nai-prehaeienary-peried-aha%%-he-f~xed-hy-ehe­ Beard~--saeh-inieia%-p•ehaeienary-peried-may-he-ex­ eended-hy-sa~d-Bea•d-en!y-apen-re~aese-frem-ehe appeine*n!-aaeher*ey-eeae*n!-ehe-reasens-fer-saeh re~aeae. After satsifactoiy completion of the probationary period,, the amployee shall be given permanent status.
