ORDINANCE NO. 36, SERIES OF 1959
AN ORDINANCE REZONING PORTIONS OF SECTIONS 8 AND 9, TOWNSH)P 5 SOUTH,
RANGE 68 WEST OF THE 6TH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN THE CIT Y OF ENGLEWOOD,
COUNT Y OF ARAP AHOE, AN D STATE OF COLORADO, FROM R-1-A (RESIDENTIAL) CLASSI -
FICATION TO R-1-D (RES IDENTIAL), M-1 (INDUSTRIAL), AND M-2 (INDUSTRIAL)
CLASSIFICATIONS.
WHEREAS, applicat ion has been made for the rezoning of certain
property hereinafter described from R-1-A (Residential) classification to
R-1-D (Residential), M-1 (Industrial), and M-2 (Industrial) classifications
as hereinafter set -forth , and the City Planning Commiss~on has recommended
approval of such change in zoning; and,
WHEREAS, public notice has been given of such proposed -rezoning
b y one publication in the Englewood Herald and Enterprise, a newspaper of
g eneral circulation within the City, an d the official newspaper of the City,
at least fifteen (15) days before the public hearing on such rezoning, and
notice of such p roposed rezoning has been posted on the property for fif-
teen (15) consecutive days prior to such hearing, as required by ordinance;
and,
WHEREAS, public hearing was held pursuant to the aforesaid notice
b y the City Council of the City of Englewood in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall, 3345 South Bannock Street, Englewood, Colorado, on the 7th
day of December, A.D . 1959, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., at which hearing no
persons appeared to protest or oppose the proposed change in zoning; and,
WHEREAS, the pub lic necessity, convenience, general welfare
and good zoning practices justify the change in zoning of the hereinafter
described property from R-1 -A (Residential) classification to R-1-D
(Residential), M-1 (Industrial), and M-2 (lndustrial)classifications as
hereinafter set forth:
NOW THEREFO RE, BE IT ORD AINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ENGLEWOOD , COLORA DO:
Section 1 . The zoning of the hereinafter described property,
located within the City o f Englewood, County of Arapahoe,and State of
Colorado, is hereby change d from R-1 -A (Residential) classification to
R-1 -D (Residential), M-1 (Industrial), and M-2 (Industrial) classifi-
cations as shown on the map attached hereto, the entire area of the
property rezoned being more particularly described as follows:
All of that portion of Sections 8 and 9, Township 5
South, Range 68 West of the 6th Principal Meridia9,
that is contained in the following described boundaries:
Beginning at a point on the North line of the South
One-half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 9, Town-
ship 5 South, Range 68 West of the 6th Principal Meri-
dian, which point is 2211.8 feet East of the Northwest
corner of said South One-half of said Northwest Quarter,
and on the Westerly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway
85; thence South 11 degrees 43 minutes West along said
right-of-way line 481.8 feet to a point, which point is
the true point of beginning; thence North 84 degrees
59 minutes West 508.19 feet; thence South 10 degrees
47 minutes West 507.65 feet, more or less, to the
North line of County Road No. 1 (Brown Road); thence
North 87 degrees 53 minutes West along the North line
of said road, 204.3 feet; thence South 82 degrees 55
