HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 Ordinance No. 024BY AUTHORITY ORD I NANCE NO. 24 SERIES OF 195t> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORD INANCE NO. 39, SERIES OF 1957, KNOWN AS THE "TRAFFIC ORDINANCE" OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO BY ADDING T O ARTICLE 108 THEREOF A NEW SF£T I ON 108.1.8 TO PROVIDE FO R TEMPORARY PERMITS TO ALLOW INCREASED PARK - ING TIME LIMITS FOR CERTA IN VEHICLES USED IN CONSTRUCTING, RECONSTRUCTING OR RE PAI R ING BUILDING S OR STRUCT URES AND l'!i ~ APPURTENANCES THERETO. BE IT ORDA I NED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO: Section 1 . Article lOd of Ordinance No. 39, Series of 1957, is hereby amended by adding tl1ereto a new Secti on 108.1.8, which shall read as follows: "Section lOd. l. 8 . PERMITS TO PARK FOR PERIODS OF TIME IN EXCESS OF THE T IME L IMI TAT IONS ON CERTAIN STREETS. (a) Permits . The Traffic Engineer, or such person as he may designate, is hereby authorized to issue permits to allow vehicles which a re used to transport tools, ma- ter~als and supplies necessar y to construct, reconstruct or repair buildings, structures and the appurtenances thereto to park for periods of t ime in excess of the time limits posted on streets within the City of Engle- wood, Colorado, while the operator of such vehicle is engaged in effect ing such construction, reconstruction or repair; provided that not hing in this section shall be construed to allow any vehicle used primarily in cleaning or mainten anc e operations so to park; and pro- vided furth er that no thing in th is section shall be construed to authorize the stopping, standing or park- ing of any vehicle in bu s stops, loading zones, places where all p ark ing is prohibited, or to evade any other more restricti ve parking regulations. {b) Nature of Permit and Fee. The permits authorized in subsection {a) above shall be in such form as shall be determined by the Traffic Engineer; shall be issued for one day for a fee of One Dollar {$1.00); and shall be limited to parking within t he reasonable vicinity of the address desi gn ated ther eon only, not to exceed one block fr o m said address. {c) Display of Per mit . E J ery such vehicle parked pursuant to the provisions of this section in excess of the posted t ime limit, at all times while so parked shall have pr ominently displayed on the windshield of such vehicle , in a position to enable easy reading, the permit described in subsection {a) above. Cita- tions issue d to the owners or operators of vehicles for unlawful parking whe re n o permit is displayed shall not be affected nor invalidated by any permit in the p ossession o f the owner or operator but not displayed as provided in this subsection. (d) Licenses a n d Taxes. No pe r son shall be elig ible for the issuance of a permit as provided in thf s sec- t ion unless all licenses and taxes applicable to said person and the vehicle to be parked shall be fully paid and in f ull force and effect at the time of the issuance of s aid permit."
