ORDINANCE NO. 3 , SERIES OF 1957
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYO R OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, TO EXECUTE, AND
THE CLERK OF THE CITY OF ENGLE WOOD, COLO RADO, TO ATTEST A WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING TO
EFFIE M. KING THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED RE AL PROPERTY, TO-WIT: THAT PART OF THE NORTHEAST
QUARTER (NE!) OF THE NORT HWEST QUARTER (NW ~) OF SECTION 3, TOWNSHIP 5 SOUTH, RANGE 68
EST OF THE SIXTH PRINCIPAL MER IDIAN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT A POINT AT
THE SOUTHEAST (SE) CORNER OF LOT THREE (3), SKERRITT'S ADDITION TO ENGLEWOOD THIRD
FILING, THEN CE SOUTH 0°26'30 " WEST A DISTANCE OF 50 FEET; THENCE NORTH 89°52'30" WEST
A DISTANCE OF 13.01 FEET ; THEN CE IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION ALONG THE ARC OF A CURVE
TO THE LEFT WITH A RAD IUS OF 966.8 FEET, A DISTANCE OF 83.2 FEET (THE CHORD OF WHICH
ARC BEARS NORTH 52°55' WEST A DI STAN CE OF 83.2 FEET) TO THE SOUTH LINE OF LCYr THREE
(3), SKERRITT'S ADDITION TO EN GLEWOOD THIRD FILING; THENCE SOUTH 89°52'30" EAST ALONG
THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID LOT THREE (3), SKERR ITT'S ADDITION TO ENGLEWOOD THIRD FILING,
A DISTANCE OF 79.73 FEET TO THE PO IN T OF BEG INNING; ARAPAHOE COUNTY, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the title t o the above described property now stands in the name of the
City of Englewood, Colorado, and has never been used for municipal, governmental or
park purposes, and
HEREAS, Effie M. Ki ng has a g reed to purchase said property from the City of
Englewood for the sum of Three Hun dred and no/100 Dollars ($300.00), which sum is more
than the appraised value of s aid tr ac t of land, and , in the opinion of the City Council
of the City of Englewood, Colorado, is the fair and reasonable value of said real proper-
ty, and
HEREAS, the said City Council of t he City of Englewood, Colorado, deems it to be
in Lhe best interesls of t he people o f Lhe City of Engiewood , Colorado , to sell and con-
vey said property for the sum aforesaid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLO-
RADO:
Section 1. That the Mayor of t he City of Englewood, Colorado, be, and he is here-
by, au thori zed to execute, in behalf of said City, and the Clerk of the City of Englewood,
Colorado, be , and he is hereby, authorized and directed to attest, in behalf of said City,
a Warranty Deed conveying to Effie M. King the following described property, to-wit:
That part of the Northeast Quar ter (NE ~) of the Northwest Quarter
(NW{) of Section 3 , Township 5 South, Range 68 West of the Sixth
Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at a point
at the Southeast (SE) corner of Lo t Three (3), SKERRIT T'S ADDITION
TO ENGLEW OOD THIRD FILING, thence South 0°26'30" Wes t a distance
of 50 feet; thence North 89°5 2'30 " West a distance of 13.01 feet;
thence in a Northwesterly direction along the arc of a curve to the
left with a radius of 966.8 feet , a distance of 83.2 feet (the
chord of which arc bears North 52°55' West a distance of 83.2 feet)
to the South line of Lot ~hr ee (3), SKERRITT'S ADDITION TO ENGLEWOOD
THIRD FIL ING; thence South 89°52'30" East along the South line of
said Lot Thr ee (3); SKERRITT'S ADDITION TO ENGLEWOOD THIRD FILING,
a distance of 79.73 feet to the point of beginning; Arapahoe County,
Colorado.
Section 2. The Ci t y Council hereby finds, determines and declares that the
foregoing conveyance is for the benefit o f t he t axpayers of t he City of Englewood, Colo-
rado, and th a t this Ordinance is necessary for the inunediate preservation of the public
peace , health, safety and convenience.
Section 3. In Lhc opinion of Lhe Ci ty Council, an emergency exists; therefore,
this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force f rom and after its final passage and
publ ication.
Passed on First Reading by the City Council of the Ci ty of Englewood, Colorado,
this 17th day of December, A. D. 1956, and ordered p ublished in the Englewood Herald
and Ent erprise.

published in the Englewood Herald and Enterprise, January 24, 1957,. as Ordinance No. 3,
Series of 1957.
