BE I T ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWO<D, COLORADO:
Section l. That Article 1, Section l, of Ordinance No. 1, Series of 1937, be and
the ~ame hereby is amended by adding thereto:
Definition: Special Mobile Equipment. Special mobile equipment shall consist
of ve ~1icles, self-propelled or otherwise, designed primarily for operation or use on or
off t h e streets and highways and only incij19tally used or moved on such streets and
highl a ys. This definition shall include by;bf example and not by limitation, snow plows,
road c onstruction or maintenance equipment, ditch digging or excavating apparatus, well
drill i ng or boring equipment, fire fighting equipment, and vehicles designed to transport
equipment, and vehicles used in connection with or the repair and maintenance of con-
struction equipment, t emporarily or permanently mounted on such vehicles, provided such
equipment is transported from yard to job, job to job, or job to yard, and equipment pri-
marily designed for hoisting, lifting, moving, loading, or d!gging operations. The fore-
going definition is partial, and shall not exclude other vehicles of unusual design, size,
or shape that are designed primarily for purposes other th~~ transporting merchandise or
passengers.
Section 2. That Article VI, of Ordinance No. l, Series of 1937, be and the same
hereby is amended by adding the following thereto:
Section 25(e). Stopping, standing, or parking limited for certain tipes of
vehicles. (1) It shall be unlawful for the operator or owner of an automobi e trans-
port trailer, moving van, transit-mix concrete truck, trailer, semi-trailer, or truck
with manufacturer's rated capacity in excess of one and one-half tons, or special mo-
bile equipment to stop, stand, or park such vehicle, or to cause such vehicle to be
stopped, stood, or parked, for a period in excess of four hours at any time except when
such vehivle is being expeditiously loaded or unloaded, or such special mobile equipment
is being used to perform the special operations for which it was designed, on any street
or highway, alley or other public way within the city limits of the City of Englewood,
Colorado. (2) Tank trucks, tank trailers or tank semi-trailers shall not park upon the
streets, alleys , public or private places of the City of Englewood, except when entirely
empty, and then only for a period of not exceeding one hour. No tanks of such vehicles
shall be repaired except when completely empty from inflammable liquids and only after
being thoroughly steamed or washed to remove all explosive vapors.
No tank trucks, tank trailers or tank semi-trailers used for transportation of
liquefied petroleum , or gas, whether loaded or empty, shall be parked or allowed to re-
main upon the streets , alleys, or other public property, or upon any private pr.operty
ithin the City limits of the City of Englewood except when actually engaged in filling
storage tanks, or while under repairs.
No tank truck, tank trailer, tank semi-trailer or tank cars so used shall take
on or discharge its load at any point within the limits of the City of Englewood between
the hours of 9:00 P. M. of one day and 5:00 A .. M. of the following day, including Sundays
and holidays. ·
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 4. The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares that this ordin-
ance ls necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, safety, health and
convenience.
Section 5. In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists; therefore, this
ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its final passage and publica-
tion.

1st day of April, A. D. 1957, and ordered published in the Englewood Herald and Enterprise.
