AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING THE INS TALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL
ELECTRI CAL WIRING, MATERIALS, FITTINGS, DEVICES, APPLIANCES,
FIXTURES AND APPARATUS, IN, WIT HIN OR UPON STRUCTURES AND
PREMISES, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE: PROVIDING FOR THE OFFICE OF AN
ELECTRICAL I NSPEC TOR, AND FIXING THE DUTIES AND POWERS OF THE
ELECTRICAL I NSPECTOR; PROVIDING FOR ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS BY
SAID OFFICE; EST AB LISHING A BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF ELECTRICIANS;
PR OVIDING FOR EXAMINATION OF ELECTRICIANS AND ISSUANCE OF LIC-
ENSES; REQUIRING LICENSING AS HEREIN PROVIDED; REQUIRING PERMITS
FOR INS TALLAT ION OF ELECTRIC WIRING, DEVICESJ APPLIANCES AND
EQUIPMENT; FIXING FEES FOR SUCH PERMITS; ESTABLISHING RULES AND
REG ULATION S GOVERNING INSTALLATION OF ALL ELECTRIC WIRING, MAT-
ERIALS, FITTINGS, DEVICES AND APPLIANCES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES QR PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COU NC IL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO:
Sect ion 1, Scope. The provi sions of t his Ordinance shall apply to the installa-
tion and mRintenance of all electrical wiring, material, fittingA, de-
vi c es, applianc es, fixtures and apparatus, within or on public and
privRte bu ildin ~s , structures and premises.
Sect ion 2. Electrical I nsp ector. Qu alifications and Appointment. There is
hereby created the office of electrical inspector. The person chosen
to fill the off ice of electrical inspector shall be a competent elec-
trician of good mo rAl c ha r a cter; shall be possessed of such executive
ability as is re o ~isite for the efficient performance of his duties
and s hall have a thorough knowledge of the standards, materials and
methods used in t h e inst al l ation of electric wiring, devices, appli-
ances and eouipment; s hall b e well versed in a p proved methods of
e l ectrical const ru c tion for safety to life and property, the rules
and regulations issued under the authority of the statutes and the
National Electrical Code, as approved by the American Standards
Associ ation .
It shall be u nlawful for the electrical inspector or any of
his assistants to eng age in the business of the sale, installation
o r maintenance of e l ectric al wi ring , devices, appliances, or equip-
ment, eithe r directly or indirectly, and he or they shall have no
financial interest in any concern engag ed in such business while
holding such office.
The electrical inspector s hall be appointed by the City Manager,
and shall b e und er the supervision of the Building Inspector.
Sec tion J. Electrical Insoector. Po wers and Duties. It shall be the duty of
the Electrical Inspe ctor to enforce the provisions of this ordinance.
He shall make inspections of a l l new electrica l installations and re-
1nspection of all electri c al installations, as provided in this Ordin-
Anc e. He shall keep a com plete record of all permits issued, inspec-
tions IDR.de and other o f ficial work p erformed 1n accordance with the
provisions of t h 1e Ord inance. He shall also keep on file a list of
inspected electrical a npl iances i Asued by or for Underwriters•
LaboratorieR, Inc., which 11At shall be available for pub lic infor-
mation during reguln r o f fice hours upon app lication to the electrical
inspector.
The electrical insp ector shall have the right during reasonable
hours to enter any building in the discha rge of his official duties,
or for t h e pur n o s e of mak ing inspections, reinspections or tests of
the inst all~tion of e l ectric wiring, devices, appliances and equip-
me nt contained therein. The electri cal inspector shall have the
aut h o rity to cut or disconnect a ny wire in cases of emergency where
necessary for safet y to life or property or where such wire may
interfere with the work of the Fire Dep a rtment. The electrical
inspector is h ereby authorized to disconnect or order discontinu-
ance of elec t ricPl Ae rvi ce to any electric wiring, devices,
appliance or equipment round to be dangerous to life or property
because they are defective or defectively installed until such
wiring, devic es , appliances a n d equipment and their installation
have been mad e safe and have be en approved by the electrical
inspector .
The electrical inspector s hall make investigations in connection
with matters referred to in this code when requested to, or when
the interests of the City so requ ire; make and enter in Court all
com plaints charging violations of this code.

Whenever any electrical work is being done contrary to the pro-
visions of thi s code, the electrical inspector may order the work
stopp ed by notice in writing served on any person engaged in such
work or causing such work to be done. Said person or persons shall
stop such work until auth orized by the electrical inspector to
p r o ceed.
It shall h e the duty of t h e electrical inspector to make
p e rio d ic inspPction of motion. picture theaters for the purpose
of enforcing the provisions of the latest revised edition of the
National Electric Code as applied to motion picture . theaters,
and the provisions of the National Board of Fire Un<Lerwritere
perta ining to nitrocellulose motion picture film.
Th e identifica t i on of the electrical inspector shall be

de mA.nd, p rovided t h at in an emergency any other method of
ide n tification s h all be sufficient.
Th e electr t c a l inspector may, with the approval of the City
Ma nag er, delegate any of his powers or duties to his assistants .
Section 4. Inspection a nd Certificate. Upon the completion of the work
~~--~wh ic h ha a-beenau t h orizecr-bylAsuance of any permit, it shall be
t h e duty of the electrician installing the same to notify the
electri cal inspector, who s h all inspect the installation within
4 8 h o u rs or a s soon thereafter as is practicable.
Where the electrical inspector finds the installation to be in
conformity with the p rovisions of this Ordinance, he shall issue to
t h e o erson, firm or corporat ~on making the installation a certificate
of app roval, aut h orizing t h e use of the installation and connection
to t h e source of supp ly, and shall send notice of such authorization
to the electri c utility furnishing the electric service.
If upon inspection the installation is not found to be fully 1n
conformity wit h the p rovisions of this Ordinance, the electrical
ins o ector s h all at on ~e notify the p erson, firm or corporation making
t h e i nst a llation, sta ting the defects which have been found to exist.
All defects shall be corrected within ten days after inspection
and n otification, or with in such other reasonRble time as fixed by
t h e electr i c a l insp ector.
When a certificate of approval is issued authorizing the con-
nect i on and use of a temporary work, such certificate shall be issued
to ex o ire at a time to b e st ~ted therein and shall be revocable by
t h e e l ectri cal inspector for cause.
Wn en any part of the wiring installation is to be hidden f rom
view by t h e o Prm a nent pla cement of p arts of the building, the pers on,
firm or corpora tion ins tA.l ling the wiring, shall notify the electrical
i n s oector; and such p arts of the wiring installa tlon shall not be
co n ce al ed until t h ey h ave been inspected and a p proved by the elec-
t r ical insp ector. On large installA.t~one . where the concealment of
parts of the wiring proceeds continuously, the p erson, firm or
corpora tion inst Rl l ing the wiring shall give the electrical inspector
due n otice A.nd insp ections shall be mnde periodica lly during the
p rogress of the work. Th e electrical inspector shRll have the power
t o re mo ve, or reouire the remov A.l o~ any obstruction that prevent s
p rone r insp ection of Rny electr i cal wiring or equipment.
It shall be unlawful for any p erson, firm or corporation to make
co nn ection s from a source of electrical energy or to supp ly electric
servir.e to any electric wiring, devices, appliances or equipment
which hA s be e n di s connected or ordered to be disconnected by the
electri cR l inA p ector, or the use of which has been ordered by the
e l ectr i c al in sp ector to be discontinued, until a certificate of
a po roval h a s been iAsue d by him auth orizing the reconnection and use
of sue~ w1r1ng, devices, a p pliances or equipment.
Section 5. Electri c a l I n snector's Bond. The electrical inspector shall file
" -with t h e City Cle-rk a good and sufficient surety bond, issued by some
b o ndi n g com oan y authorized to do business 1n t h e State of Colorado,
in the sum of One Th ousa nd Do l lars ($1,000.00) acceptable to the City
Coun c il of the City of Englewood, Colorado, and conditioned upon the
f A.ith ful p erformance of h is duties as electrical inspector.

Examinations s hal l b e h eld qua rterly on or about the third
ednesday of th e month s of Ma rch, June , September and December
of each year, beginni n g a t 9:00 o 1 clock A. M.
Each person shall , b efore taking t h e required exa mination, pay
to the City Cle r k an exam i nat ion f e e in the sum of Ten Dolla rs ($10.00).
At lenst two members of the exam i n i ng b oa rd s hall b e present dur-

Section 8 . License Reauired. Every pers o n, firm , a s sociation or corporation

the City of Englewoo d , Co l o rado, s ecure from the City Clerk a license
authorizing him o r it t o do such work.

Three grade s o f e le c t r i c al lic e ns es will be i s sued as follows:
(a) Elect r ical Li c e n se Class A: An Electrical License Class A
o r Master Elect r ic i a n's Licens e shall entitle the licensee to contra ct
for the instnllation o f e l ec t r ical wi ring or any electrical a p paratus
where such installat ion re qu ires t h e i Asuance of a permit under the
provisions of t h is Ordinan c e. All such work shall be done in accor-
dance with the terms and p rovi s ions of this o ~·dinance and only by,
or under, the d irec t sup ervisi on of an Electrical License Class B
licensee. The an nua l f ee for an Electrica l License Class A shall
be $50 .00 for th e p eriod fro m J anu a ry 1 to Janua ry 1, said license
fee to be p r o-rat ed wh en i sAu ed during the course of the year and
for a period of l e ss t han t welve months.
(b) Elect r ical Li c ense Cl ass B: An Elect r ical License Class
B or Journeyman Ele c t ri c i a n's lic e ns e s h all entitle the individual
holding such l i cens e to in stall a ny electrical wiring or electrical
app Rratus where s uch i n stallat i on re qu ires the i s sua nce of a permit
unde r the prov i si on s of thi s Ordina nce. All such work shall be
done in accordanc e with t h e tP r ms and p rovi s ion s of this Code.
The Electrical Li ce ns e Class B 1s a n i ndi vidual license and such
licensees may p e rfo rm the work f or wh ich t h e y are licensed, only
wh ile 1n the employ o f an ele c t r i cal li c ense Cla ~s A licensee.
The annu1l fee for a n Ele c t r i cal Li c e ns e Class B s hall b e $5.00
for the period of Januar y 1 t o J anu a r y 1 of each ye a r and s h all
not be pro-rat e d, but shall be pa id in f ull for t h e i s suance
of such a licens e irrespe c tiv e of t h e d a te upon wh ich t h e same
may o e issued .
(c) Elect r ical Lice n se Class C: An Electrical License Clas e C
or Low Voltag e El e ct r ic i a n's lic e n se, s h all entitle the licensee
to p erform the installati o n and ma int e nance of sig nal and communi-
cation s y ~tems and aut o mntic c ont ro ls wh ich o pe r a te on an electri cal
potential not exceeding 48 v o l te . All such work shall b e done in
accordance with th e p rov isi o ns of thi s Ordi nance. An Electrical
License ClRAS C 1s an i nd ivi dual license. The annual fee for a n
Electrical Licens e Class C s hall be $5.00 for the p eriod of
J anuary 1 to J anu a ry 1 of e a c h y e a r and shall not be pro-rated
but s hall b e pa id in ful l for t h e i Aeuance of such a license
i rre spective o f the d a te u p o n wh ich the same may be issued.
The holde r o f a Gra de A El ectrical License shall execute
and file with t h e Ci t y Cl e rk a surety b ond in the sum of One
Thousand Dollars f $1,000.00 ) i ssu ed b y some surety company
aut h orized to d o busine s s in the St at e of Colora do, to protect
the City of Engl ewood from a ny dama~e or liab ility arising
from any act of th e l icen see. Th e h old er of a Gra de A license
wh o does not pass t h e req uired exam ina tion for electrical con-
tractors s h all b e p roh i b i t ed f rom inst a l l ing, repairing or
maint a ining any ele ctrical wi r ing , devic~appl i a nce or equip-
ment in the City of Englew o o d , h imself, but such work shall be
done by or under the direct supe rvision of an Electrical
Class B license e.

Any op erator in c ha r g e of projection equipment in motion picture
t h e at ers s h all o b tain from the City Clerk a license authorizing him
to do such work. The annual 11cenAe fee shall be Five Dollars
($5.00) per year.
Every person en ga ~ed in lea(ing and assisting in the installa-
tion of electrical wiring, or equipment, shall be required to obtain
an apprentice permit from the City Clerk. The annual fee for such
permit shall b e Five Dollars ($5.00). No electrical contractor
sha ll emp loy more apprentices at any one time than the :following
ratio based on the num b er of licensed men in his shop as followe~
One apprentice for each licensed electrician. No apprentice shall
do any electrica l work unless employed by a licensed contractor
and supervised at all times by a licensed Plectrician.
Each contrac tor, electrician or motion picture operator who has
sati s f Actorily pa Rsed the re~uired examination condu cted by the
Bo ard of Examiners, and each apprentice electrician shall have in
his poss e ss ion at all times when working at hie trade, an identifica-
tion card sig ned by t h e electrical inspector. The electrical inspector
s hall hav e the ri ght to see t h is identification card at any time when
t h e electrician, o pe r a tor or apprentice is working at h i.s trade. All
annual fees are due and payable on or before the 1st day of January.
No lice·nse or permit shall b e iRsued by the City Clerk until he
s hall obtain written a p proval from the electrical inspector, such
approval to certify the ap p licant has passed the required examina-
tion for electrical contrac tor, electrician or motion picture
op erat or.
A tempora r y p ermit, u p on approval of the electrical inspector,
ma y b e issued to a journeyman electrician to work with a licensed
elec t r i cian, and tempora ry p ermit may be issued to motion picture
operators u p on a p proval of the electrical inspector. Temporary per-
mi ts will b e void after the next quarterly examination date. Fee
for temoo r a r y permits shall be Five Dollars ($5.00) for each permit.
Section 9. Revocation of License. Any license or temporary permit granted
und er the provisions of this Ordinance may be revoked by the Board
of Examiners of electricians if the licensee violates any of the
provisions of this Ordinance, or is guilty of electrical construction
wh ich is a hazard to life or property. When a license is revoked, a
new license shall not a g ain b e granted to the same licensee for a
period of JO days, nor until the licensee shall have fully corrected
the faulty c onstruction in accordance with the provisions of this
Ordinance and shall have made application as required in Section 8
of this Code and pa id the fee as required for the ori g inal license.
The Board of Examiners of Electricians shall have discretionary
power to withhold t h e granting of a new license, sub sequent to
revoc a tion of license for cause, for a period not to exceed six
months .
Section 10. Arbitrati on. When the electrical insp ector condemi all or parts
of t h e electrical work of any building , t h e owner may, within five days
afte r receiving written notice from the electrical inspector, file a
p e t iti on in writing for a review of said action of the electrical in-
spector to the c hairman of the Board of Examiners of Electricians, up-
on r e ceipt of which said Board shall proceed at once to determine
wh eth er said electri c Rl construction com plie s with the p rovisions of
t h is Ordinance, and with in three days shall make a decision 1n
ac cordan c e with i t s findings.

11 . Permits. No electric wiring , devices, appliances or equipment
s hall b e installed within or on any building, structure or premises,
nor shall any alteration or addi~ion be made in any such existing
wiring , d evices, app liances or equipment, wit b out first securing
a permi t t h erefor from the City Clerk, except as stated in the
fo llowing P aragraphs, (l), (2), (J) and (4):
(1) No permit sha ll b e required for maintenance repair work,
th e rep lac ement of lamps or the c~nnection of portable appliances
to suitable receptacles which have been permanently installed.
(2) No permit shall be required from Public Utilities or
qualif ied heating contra ctors for the installation, alteration
or repa ir of wiring, devi c es, appliances or equipment for the
operat ion of signals or controls, or the transmission of intelli-
gence, wh ere such wiring devices, appliances or equipment operate
at a voltag e not exceeding 25 between conductors and do not
includ e g enerat ing or transforming equipment capable of supplying
more than 50 watts of energy.
(J) No permit shall be required for the installation, altera-
tion or repair of electric wiring, devices, appliances and equipment
inst a lled by or for an electric or gas public service corporation
for the use of such corporation in the generation, transmission,

distribution or metering of electrical energy, or for the use of such
corpora t i on in the operation of eignRle or controls, or the trans-
mi s sion of intelligence; in building, extending, altering and
removing substations, transformer stations and transformers; in
inst a lling , resetting and removing electric meters; in render-
ing emerg ency ma int e nanc e service for customers, to eliminate
faults and to restore p roper service prior to the making of
permanent repairs by licensed persons, firms or corporations,
and in repairingelectric ranges and other electric a ppliances
on the p remise s of customers and elsewhere.
(4) No pe rmit s hall be requ ired tor the installation ot
temporary wiring for testing electrical apparatus or equipment.
Section 12. Application for Permit. App l ication tor electrical permit,
describing the work to be done, shall be ma.de in writing to the
electrical inspector by the p erson, firm or corporation install-
ing the work . The application shall be accompanied by such plans
and specifications as may b e necessary to determine wheth er the in-
stallation as described will b e in conformity with the requirements
of this Ordinance.
If it shall b e found t ha t the installa tion as described will,
in general, confor m with the requ irements of this Ordinance, a nd
if the app licant has complied with all the provisions of this
Ordinance, the application shall be approved and the issuance
of the permit autho rized.
Provided, how ever, that the issuance of the permit shall not
be taken as p ermis sion to violate any or the provisions of this
Ordinance.
The p ermit, when issued, shall be for such installation as is
descri b ed in the application, and no deviation shall be made from
t ~e installation so d e scribed wit h out the written a pp roval of the
electrical inspector.
Section lJ. Fees for Permits and Inspections. When the electrical inspector
has a pproved an application for an electrical permit and has deter-
mined t h e fee requi ~ed for same, the a pp li c ant s h all pay the fee so
det e r mined to the City Cle rk wh o will issue the p ermit.

For the purp o se of establish ing fees tor permits, the following
definitions are given and made a pa rt of this code:
Circu it: A circuit is e ach p ortion of the wiring system that
is p rotected b y an overcurrent device and does not include outlets
and s witch es.
Fixed Appli a nce: A fixed a pp l iance shall be any a pp liance or
device tha t s h all consume electric current and that is not readily
mov a ble and that is connected to bu ilding plumbing , heating or
ventilating system .
Electric Sign: An electric sign shall be any light or group
of lights used to conv e y a messag e or to attract attention, including
li~h te u s ed for outline l i ght ing.
Outlet: All outlets where a connection may be made either by a
p lug, or oth erwiAe, and all switches, shall be classed as outlets.
Junction b oxes used for signal, communication or fixture connection.
shall be classed as outlets. Outlets must be placed 1n approved
locations.
Fixtures: All lampholders shall be classed as fixtures. Where
the fixture shall be more t han 48" long, each additional 4au shall
be counted as a separate fixture. All sockets mounted on junction
boxes shall be classed a s fixtures.
Fees: A minimum fee of $1.00 shall be charged on all permits.

dwelling witt two s e ts of se rvice eq u ipment will require two
separate p ermits.
It shall o e deem ed a violat ion of this code to proceed with
work or construction for whic ~ a permit is required without first
having obtained such a per mit, and each day of operation without
such perm it shall be considered a separate violation. Following
violation, the fee for a pe r mit, if the same be granted, shall be
twice the amount prescribed in this Ordinance.
Sect ion 14. General Provisions. All electric wiring hereafter installed,
including addit ions, extensions or c h anges 1n existing wiring, used
for the transmission of elect ric energy for light, heat or power
in or on all building s l o cat ed within the City of Englewood, Colorado,
s hall be installed by the use of the following materials,to-wit:
(a) Non-metallic shea thed cable of approved type.
(b) Ri ~id me t al conduit.
(c) Electrical metallic tubing.
(d) Surfac e metal raceway.
(e) Under floor raceway.
(f) Wireways.
(g) Busways.
It is expre s sly p rovided, h owever, that in all public buildings,
co mme rcial bui ldin g s and in existing and future fire zones, wiring

The National Electric Code shall b e used as the authority for
all rules and regulations ne rtnining to wiring and electrical
installations not cove red by this Ordinance.
All se rvice eq u ipment , fixtures and every material used by
electric contrac tors muet b e a pp roved equipment and bear the under-
writer 1 s lRb e l of app roval attach ed thereto.

Services: (a) All electric services hereafter installed for buildings
locat ed within the City of En g lewood shall be in a pp roved steel
conduits, eq uipp ed at the outer end with an a pp roved service or
conf!.u.it fitting, and s hall run continuously, without outlet or
junction box , into a service cabinet or switch of approved steel

construction with und erwriter's lab el or a pp rova l attached t h ereto.
Said cabinet shall b e located in s i d e the walls of building in the
nearest acc essi b le u l Ace to the p oint where the wires enter the
buildinrr , but in n o c aA e more t han 15 feet from the point of
e ntrRnce. The c ab ine t s hall b e so arranged that the handle of
the service switch located t h erein shall not b e less than 5 1 6 11
nor more than 6 feet ~b ove a ne r man ent floor. Conduits and
c ab inets nre to b e securely b ounded and g rounded, but in no
c as e s hall the conduit sy st em b e used to ground secondary
s ys tems. Condu ctors for all un11erground Aervices and all
conductors in or beneat h baA ement floors shall be considered
as sub ject t o mois ture.
(b ) Service switches, panel boards and outlets shall be
inst alled in a n n roved locat i ons and be convenient for proper
inspect ion .
(c) Bare neutral conductors will not be permitted for
service neut r nl or on l o ad side of service equipment.
(d) Serv ic e eq u i p ment s hall b e grounded by a pp roved grounding
methods . Groun ding conductors shall not b e smaller than No. 8
A.W.G. armored. Services s hall b e grounded to the neutral bar
of t h e services eq uipment.
(e) Condu its of l e Rs t han one inch shall not be used for
service conducto rs of more t han one circu it.
(f) A servic e switch s hall have a rating not less than the
load to be carried; s hall have a rating of not less than 60 amperes
if a Awitch is used, and not l ess than 50 amperes if a circuit
breaker is used . Ho wever, for installations consisting of not more
than one circuit a switch or circuit breaker of JO amperes minimum
r a ting may b e used. .
(g) Service entran ce conductors shall not be smaller than
No. 6, except by sp ecial p ermi ssi on.
(h) The bott om of the meter h ousing when located on the
out ~ide of a building s hall not b e more than 5 1 6" nor less than
5 1 f rom the g round l evel.
(i) Rough-In Inspection:
No rough-in i nspec tion of a ny electrical work should be
made until all wire hR.s b een pulled in the conduit and overcurrent
p ro tection has be en inst a lled.
(J) Overcurrent n rotection:
Plug fus es of the Edison bas e type shall not be u sed for
overcurrent p rotect1 0n in any feeder or branch circuit. All over-
current devices s hall b e of t h e tamper-resistant type.
(k) A d riven ro d or p ipe us ed for grounding power circuits
shall not b e uAed for g rounding communication circuits.
Section 1.5_. General Wiring Methods:
(a) Any contractor taking out a pe rmit for work contracted
for by oth ers than h imself shall be sub ject to suspension or
rev ocation of h is l icense.
(b ) Whenever it b eco mes necessary to move any electrical
eq uipment to a different l ocation, the equipment installed in the
new location mus t com p ly with current co d e standards.
(c) Whene ver it be comes neceAsary to remove or change any
part of the ~ervice eq u ipment, t h e entire service equipment must be
installed according to the current code requirements.
(d) All fix ed electrical applian ces shall be wired direct from
distribution panel on a circuit of not l ees than No. 12 wire. Not
more t han three anp l i a n c es may b e connected to a circuit. Under-
writer1 s approved motor p rotect ion s hall be p rovided.
(e) In hair dreAsing s h op s using electrically heated devices,
each appliance branc h circuit s hall b e wired wit h not less than
No. 1 2 wire with not mor e t han two re c e p tacles on a circuit.
(f) Circuit wires s hall not be plR ced in the same conduit or
r ac ew ay with feeders or sub-f e eders.
(g) Feeders or circuits me tered separately shall be considered
as s e parat e s y stems and s h all b e wired in separate conduits or

system on a cold WAte r p i p e of adequate current carrying capacity
as near as nracticable to the wa t er service entrance to the build-

(i) For g round c lamps for s erv i c e e quipment or s y stem ground,
an approved g round clamp of the c aA e sea t type shall be used. Cast
b r ass o r b ronze c lamp s s hal l be used on copper electrodes. Straps are
not approved.
(J) No e l ectrica l device s h all be mounted on the door, trim, lining
or in the gutte r of a c abinet.
(k) Bell t r ans formers must b e installed in readily accessible
locations for remo v al or insp ection.
(1) Th e r e s hall b e no wi ri n g , including control wiring, in or
passing thr ough any ventilating du c t , eith er h ot or cold, unless
i nstalled in r igi d or thi nwa ll condu it. All exposed control wiring
shRll be Underw r it er's a pp r o ved typ e a r mored c able.
(m) I t s hall b e unlawfu l for a ny owner, contractor or workman,
not h o l ding a lic e ns e for do ing electric wiring, to in any manner
i nterfere with a n y electric wiring in or on any building in any
manner whats o e ver. If in any c a se the wiring is in such a position
as to int e r f ere with t h e com p letion of the building as called for by
the plans, t h e wiri n g contra ctor mu s t be notified to have it changed.
(n) Br anch circui t s s hall b e installed to provide for a load
of not less t han 1-1/2 am p eres for each outlet for general illumina-
tion and n ot l ess t h an 4 amp eres for each outlet for small appliances.
S ection 16. Rang e Wi ring.

nections to r ang es must b e c able. Loose or coiled wires will not be

water-tight typ e.

Any pers o n, firm, asso c iati on or co rp ora t i on violating any

violatl on s hall b e punish e d by a fine of n o t more than Three
Hun d red Dollars ($JOO .CO) or by i mp ri s onment for not more than
ninet y (90 ) days . Ea c h and eve r y day, or p ort i on t h ereof, during
wh ich any vi o lat i on i s co mm i tted, con t inued or p ermitted, shall
be deemed a separate off e ns e and t h e fine or imp risonment set forth
h erein may be impos ed fo r eac h s u ch offen se.
