ORDINANCE NO.l SERIES OF 1942.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND EMPOWERING MAURICE E. HIIL, HIS HEIRS,
SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, TO ENGAGE IN THE TRANSPORTATION OF PASSENGERS BY
OTOR VEHICLES ON THE STREETS OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, OR ANY ADDITIONS
THERETO, FOR UNIFORM FARES, ON REGUl.AR ROUTES AND ON REGULAR SCHEDULES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD:
That Maurice E. Hill, his heirs, successors, and assigns are hereby
empowered and duly authorized to engage in the transportation of passengers
by motor vehicles on the streets ot Englewood tor uniform tares on regular
routes and on regular schedules.
The p riviledge hereby granted shall be for a period ot one(l) year from
he paaeage and approval hereof, and, in the event the said Hill himself carries
on said operation or operations tor one (1) year then the privilege granted shall
be, and the same ie hereby, automatically extended tor an addi,•onal term of
nine (9) years.
The tare charged each p assenger tor a one-way ride over the route chosen or
tor any traction ot said route shall not exceed ten cents tor an adult or tiYe
cents tor children between the ages of rive (5) years and twelve (12) years.
The said Maurice !. Hill, his heirs, successors,and assigns, shall season-
a•ly pay to the City of Englewood all license and other tees required by the ord-
inances ot said City and tailure to make such payment shall terminate the privilege
and tranchise herein granted.
No Yehicle uaed in the transportation privilege hereby granted shall be
parked or lett standing on the public street hnown as South Broadway ntr on any
other public .street where such pa rking may interfere with, or cause congestion,
ot trattic.
ithin tiv' (5) days after the granting ot this privilege Maurice E. Hill,
shall tile a written and signed route or routes and schedule ot the route or
routes to be traversed and said route or routes and schedule shall not be changed
without the express consent of the City Council ot the City of Englewood in
writing rtrst had and obtained.
It at any time o perations on schedule as herein provided shall cease or be
sus p ended tor a period ot one week such cessation or suspension shall, ipso tacto,,
without any action on the part of the said City or its agents, terminate all rightt
p rivilege and authority hereunder, subject however to waiver ot said cessation or
suspension and ot the effect thereof by the City Council ot the City ot Engleweod
by tormal resolution.
All motor vehicles used under the terms ot this rranch1se shall be kept in
a sate and serviceable condition at all times and shall be adequately covered with
public liability and p roperty damage insurance to protect the public and particul-

tor damages against the holder or this franchise which ahall r•matn,unpaia tor a
period ot more than thirty days after such judgement shall become final, shall be
conclusive proof th a t the insurance coverage here•nder ~. inadequate and this
franchise may be revoked tor such cause by the City Council after hearing.
The privilege hereby granted shall become null and void at any tlme the
PUblic Utilities Commission, certificate, authorizing excerise of the rights and
priYilege herein granted , is sus pended or terminated tor cause.
