limited to, a ny s i dewalk , s t r eet , a lle y , parking l ot , pa r k , pool r oom
fieldhouse , s t adium , or ball pa r k.

11-2-1 2 SO LI CIT/\T ION OF CIUNK S
(a) It shall be unlawf ul for any per so n t o freque nt or loiter in
cabaret o r ni g ht cl ub , wi th the purp:,se of sol i citing any o ther
pe r son t o purchase dr i nks.
(b) It shall be unlawf ul for t he propri e tor o r ope r a to r of a ny such
establ i shment t o knowingly allow the presence in s uch establishmen t
o f any person wh o violates the prov i sions o f th i s Section .

C<l'I PLICITY
A person is l egally liable a s principal for the conduct of ano ther
co ns tituting a c rim inal o ffense if, wi th t he intent to pr,J <.'o t e o r
f ac il itate the commis s i on o f the offense , he a i ds , abet ~·. ·.,\· adv i ses
the othe r person in planni ng or committing the offense .
11-5-1 MENACING
(a) It shall be un lawful fo r a pe r son , by any th r eat o r phys ical
ac tion , t o know i ng l y place or a ttempt t o place a nother pe r son i1, fea r
o f illl1li nent bodily injury .
(o) Bodily in jur y means any phys i c al pain , illness , o r a n y impairment
of physical o r mental condition.
11 -5-2 : ASSA ULT
I t shall be unlawful fo r a person t o in t e ntionall y , know i ngly , or
reckl essly ca use bodily in jury to a nothe r pe r so n. Bodily injur y is
de fined in 11 -5-1 (b).
11 -5-3 : Rf.'CKLESSLY ENDANGERING ANarHER PERSON

11 -6-1 : DI SORDERL Y CONDUCr
It shall be un lawful fo r any pe r son to engage in d isorde rl y conduce
in the Ci ty of Engle""od . A pe r so n coirrn i t s d iso rderly cond uc t if he o r
she knowingly or inte ntionally , o r re d:iess l1 :

(a) abuses o r threatens anothe r i:-e r son in a public place in an
obviously offensive manne r.
(b) makes a coa r se and obv iously offensive utte r anc e gesture, o r
display "'1ich tends to incite a breach of the i:-eace.
(c) fights with anothe r in a public place , except fo r professional
o r amateu r contests of athletic s kill.
(d) mak es unreasonabl e noise in a publ i c place or ne ar a private
r esidence "'1ich he or she has no right to occ upy .
11-6-3 : DISTURBAOCE Of THE PEACE
It shall be unlawful for any pe r son to d i sturb the peace of a
ne ighborhood by offensive conduct , or by loud o r un usual noi ses , o r
by profane or offensive l anguage , calc ul ated to provoke a breach of
the peace ; o r for any person t o pe rmit any s uc h conduct in any house
or upo n any premi ses owned or possessed by him or unde r his manage-
ment or control, "'1en within his power to prevent, so that o thers i n the
ne i ghborhood are o r may be d i s t urbed thereby .
11-6-6: HARASSME!fl'
It shall be unlawful for a person , with intent to harass , annoy
or ala rm anothe r per son , to:
(a) stri ke , shove , kick or otherwi se touch any pe r son ; or
(b) 'epeatedly insult, taunt o r challenge another in a manner likely
t o provoke a violent o r d iso rderly response ; o r
(c) mak,, a telephone call , o r cause a [X]one to ring repeil tedly ,
without oo rpose of leg iti mate corrmunication; or
(d) make re peated communications , or otherwise , by telephone or at
inconv enient hours o r in offensi vely coarse l anguage ; o r
(e) engage in conduct "'1i ch ala rms or se ri ously annoys another person
and "'1ich se rves no legitimate purpose .
11 -6-7 : l1llTERJNG
(a) It shall be unlawful to:
(l) loiter fo r the purpose of begg ing; or
(2) loiter in or about a sc,hoo l bu ild i '1g o r g ro unds , not havi ng
any reasn:"1 o r relationship involving custody of o r resfX)nsi-
bility for a pupil , or any othe r specific and legitimat e reason
for being ther e , and not hav ing written permission from c school
adm~nist rator ; or
(J) loiter in a place , at a time , and in a manner no, usual and
appropriate for the place , or "'1 e r e cl rcuns tances warrant a larm
o r concern for the safety of pe r sons or property in t he vicinity.
Among the ci r cumstances 1,!lic h may be considered in de ter min ing
"'1 e ther such alarm is wa rranted is the fact that s uch pe rson
takes flight upon appearance of a peace officer, refuses t o
identify himself, or mani festly endeavo r s to conceal himself ,
or conceal o r dispose of any object. Un less flight by the
person or o ther ci r c ums tance makes it impr ac ticable, a peace
off i cer s hall, prio r to any ar rest fo r an offense un de r thi s
section , a fford such person an oppo r tunity to dispel any
a l arm wtiich ""'uld othe rwise be war rant ed by requesti ng him t o
identify himse lf and explain h i s presence and conduct. lb
person shall be convic t ed of an offense un der thi s sectic,n if
the peace officer did not comply with the pr ec eding sentrnce ,
or if it appears at tri a l that the expl ana t ion given by the
person was true and , if believed by the peace officer at thr
time , ""'uld have dispelled the a larm.
(4) l oiter so as to inte rfe re with the free and un obstructed
use of a publi c wa y or pl ace by other pe r sons .
(b) fo r p..1rposes of thi s sec tion , "loiter11 means to be dilatory ,
to stand idly around, t o l inge r, delay , or wander about , o r t o
ta rry in a public place.
11 -6-10 : rossESSION OF ILLECI\L WEAroNS
(a) It shall be unlawf ul for any person to possess an illegal
weapon .
(b ) As used in th i s Section , "illega l weapon " mea ns a blackjack ,
OOmb , firearm silencer , zip gun , gas g un, machine gun , sho rt
shotgun , sho rt rifl e , metallic knuckles , g r avity knife ,
sw i tchblade kn i fe , nunchukas o r throwing sta r s .
(c) Machin e gun i s defined as a f,•lly automa t i c weapon capable of
firing more than one time automati cally with a si ngle pull of the
trigger . A short sho~gun o r sho rt r i fle is defi ned as a weapo n
hav ing an ove r a ll ba rrel leng t h of less than 18 inches.
(d) It shall be an aff irmative defense to thi s s ection that a
person has a valid permit and license pursuant t o the fede r al cod e
for such wea pon , or that s uch person is a peace off ice r o r member
of the armed fo rces or National Guard act ing in l awful d ischa rge
o f his duties . I

11-6-11: FORFEITURE OF WEAPONS

11 -6-1 5 : RESISTANCE , INTERFERENCE WITH
A PO LICE OFFICER OR FIREMAN
(a) It shall be unlawful for a ny person to r esist a peace
of fi ce r , unde r co lor of official authority , from effecting the
arrest of any person , by the use or thr ea t of phys i cal force or
violence , or any other means whi ch c reates a substantial ri sk of
physical injur y .
(b) It shall be unlawful to knowingly obstruct or interfere with o r
hinder a peace officer or fireman i n the di scharge cf h i s dut i es .
11-6-16: AIDING ESCAPI::
It shall be unlawf ul fo r any person to rescue , or to
a i d o r abet , offe r or endeavor to assist anothe r pe rson to
escape from custody o r confinemen t.
11 -8-1: WRONGS TO CHILDRl::N
It shall be unl awful for any person to knowingly , intentionally
or negligently cause o r perm1 t a child to be placed in a si t uat i on
that may endanger the child 's life or health , or exposed to t he
inclemency of the weathe r, or abandoned , tortured , c ruelly confined ,
o r cruelly punished , or depr ived of necessa ry fo ,,d o r shelter, .tiere
any in j u r y r esulting to the chi ld is less than ;er i ous bod i ly
injury.
