WHERF.AS, the Colorado State Sena':e Bill No. 12, was enacted into law a nd ,1dd~ a new Sect ion 42-2-2 36 Color.,do Revise d Statues providing for the n.indato ry use of seat belts in motor ·.-~hicles. Under the provisions of Sections 42-4-108, 42-4-109 and 42-4-,·,, CRS, nunicipalities have authority t o e nact ordinances requiring the manda '·cn:y use of seat belts in motor lll'hicles ; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Englewood, COlorado, determines that it is advantageous to enforce the use of seat belts through a nunicipal ordinance to provide consistency in enforcenent and to avoid the splitting of offenses between the state and the nunici-pality; NG/ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COONCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEl',IX)(), COLORADO, THAT: Section 1.
