IIIEm'JIS, the City of Englelo<lOd entered into an Intergovenvmmtal
l\greelt'ent with all cities, towns and fire districts within tllf' incorporated
and unincorporated area of Arapahoe COUnty for creation and ,. -t ablisl"lnent of
the E-911 Authority; and
tm:REAS, said Authority was created to f11eilitate the ,!(JUiprent
accr-usition, maintenance and operation for the E-911 System throughout
Arapahoe County; an6
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Intergovermental Agreement, said Authority is
to set the llll'OUl\t of the emergency teleplOl'le charge to be inp:)sed by the
county, cities and towns; and
WHEREAS, t.'le Authority has net and set an e,,ergency telephone charge of
$.45 per m::mth, "'hich charge is oot in excess of two percent of the tariff
rate; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the benefits of the E-911 System to
the citizens exceed the $.45 per rronth charge;
NCM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CXlUNC'.L OF THE CITY OF
EllGLEN'.XlD, CXlLOOADO, 'rnl\T:
section 1. Title 4, Chapter 8, section 2, Engle,,,,x,d M.lnicipal Code
1985, is hereby ar.encled by repealing and reenacting a new section 2 to read as
follows:

Pass an ordinance amending 4-8-2 Englewood Municipal Coda 1985, imposing $.45 per
month , per exchange accesa facility within Englawood for enhanced 911 emergency
service ,
BACKGROOHD
By ordhlance 45 , series 1987, tha City ,,f Englewood entered into an intergovernmen-
tal agreement with all cities , towns and fire districts within the incorporated and
unincorporated area of Arapahoe County, l)ith the exception of the City of Aurora ,
for the creation of the E9ll Authority. The authority vu created to facilitate the
'!qulpment acquisition, maintenance and operation for the E911 system throughout the
authority area.
Pursuant to that intergovernment ~gree11ent, the authority was to set the emergency
telephone charge, to be imposed by the county, citiu and towns. The authority has
met and set the emergency telephone charge at $.45 per mcnth, per main station line.
