Any person submitting an application for a Class A, Class B, Class C er Class.I> ,,,. Cicwi £ -& contractor's license shall be required to 1atlsfectorily complete a qualifying examination administered by the Division of Building and Safety when the Chief Building Inspector determines that any of the following conditions exist : B. Information provided by the applicant indicates he is unqualified for the class of license applied for. 3 . More than twelve 112) months have elapsed since the expiration of the ap- plicant's last valid City contractor's license . 4 . The applicant has had his City license suspended or revoked during the previous twelve I 12) months. 5. The applicant has been in violation of any of the provisions of Section 5-7-11B of this Chapter during the previous twelve (12) months. Any applicant who is denied a license based on the Chief Building Inspector 's determination that he is unqualified for the particular license applied for, may qualify for such license by satisfactorily completing the appropriate contractor license exam ination. Failure to satisfactorily complete any contractor licensing exam ination shall be grounds for the Chief Building Inspector to deny issuance of the license ap- plied for . Re-examinations shall be administered no sooner than two (21 weeks from the date of unsatisfactory completion of any examination . The fee for all contractor licensing examinali'ins (including re-examinations! shall be thirty dollars ($30.001 to cover the cost of materials and clerical duties associated with administering such examinations . The standard method of conducting contractor licensing examinations shall be determined by official Division pellcy. Such policy shall be posted conspicuously for viewing and perusal in public office areas of the Division of Building and Safety . All licenses and cer• tificates of registration , except those which are revoked or suspended, may be renewed within the twelve (12) month period after the date of expiration upon proper, qualified epplicatlon and payment of the required license or registra• tlon fee . Licenses and cenificates of registration shall expire one year from the date of issuance . D. Work Done Without Licen se or Certificate of Registration; Penalty . Starting work on any project before the required license or cenificate of reg istration has been secured will result in a fifty percent (50%) increase of the license or registra- tion fee be ing levied against the contracteir involved . In the event that the con • tractor cannot qualify for the required lic,,nse or cenificate of registration for the work which has been staned , such co,,tractor shall be denied any licens • ing or registration privileges in the City for a period of twelve 112) months and shall forfeit his right to complete any work already contracted for within the City, for which he is not qualified or licensed to perform . E. License or Cenilicate of Registration Changes . - 1. Change of Name . A licensee or registrant shall provide written notification to the Division personally , or by mail , of any change of name or address within fifteen 115) days after making the change . New Licenses or Cenificates of Registration Required .
