Historical Backqr i.. ~d: This site was once a part of Englewood's Ci ty Puk and
was later zoned r.TTBu s in ess) to permit the construction of the Cinderella
City Complex and other co11111erc1al uses on what was once pa r k l and . A r equest '
was made in 1962 at the time the Cinderella City City co mpie x was planned for
development, to allow a 150' x 150 ' parcel to be zone d B-2 (General Business),
whkh would permit the construction of a Texaco gas station on West Fl oyd
Avenue. The Zonin11 C.innission reco11111ended the request for r ezoning be ap -proved on Octo ber 26, 1962. ,
Reasons for R1zonln9: Currently, Phar -Mor Plaza occupies this site and the B-
2 zoning is no longer necessary . Therefor&, it is r eco 111111nded that the B-2
classi f ication be reverted back to B-1, In orde r to correspond with the ad-
joining 8·2 zone classiflcatinn, u well as conform to t he uniform zoning
request outlined in the 1979 Coniprehensive Plan .
