WHEREAS, the Englewood Municipal Code restricts employment ofa city employee when that employee would be supervised by or supervising, inDuenced by or lnDuencing an immediate family member; and WHEREAS, Title 3, Chapter I 0, Secilon 8, Englewood Municipal Code 1985 Includes flnt cousin In Its definition of Immediate family; and WHEREAS, the provisions in the Code are too restrictive and hlbibit qualified Englewood Residents from from applying for and holding employmer.t with the City; and WAEREAS, Uowing 6nt cousins to be employed by the C!ty and work in the same dcparunait will not lead to undue inOucncc in the operallon of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY 1HE CITY COUNCIL OF 1lIE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS: That Title 3, Chapter I 0, Section 8 of the Englewood Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 3-10-8 FAMILY EMPLOYMENT RESTRICTIONS: No member of the immediate family of an employee may be employed, promoted, demoted or transferred on a permanent, part-time, or temporary basis, to a position where that relative would be supervised by or supervising, inDueoced by or inDueoclog, the activities of that employee . "Immediate family" is defined as blood, marital or step relative, including father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, Al51 eeusin, nephew, niece, husband , wife, father-lo-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law , stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half-brother, half-sister, or any ward ofan employee living within the same household.
