AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 2, OF THE ENGLEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE 2000
BY THE ADDITION OF A ,,cW CHAPTER 11 , REESTABLISHING THE ALLIANCE FOR
CO MMERCE IN ENGLEWOOD (ACE) FOR THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD , COLORADO .
WHEREAS, business activi1ics arc imponant to the very essence of the City of Englewood's
community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council rec og nizes the imponance of bu sines s and citize n involvement
in local government; and
WHEREAS, the advisory committee foc using on the business community has helped create an
environment whi ch is su pponi vc of Englewood busine sses; and
WHEREAS, by tl.e operation of the Sunset provision in the original Ordinance creating ACE,
the Committee terminated on February 20, 2006; and
WHEREAS, the Englewood City Council wishes to continue the benefit s of ACE to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HIE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS :
~-The City Council of the City of Englewood hereby approves amending Title 2, of
the Englewood Municipal Code 2000, by adding a new Chapter 11, reestablishing the Alliance: for
Co mmerce in Englewood (ACE), which shall read as follows:
Hl: ALLIANCE FOR COMMERCE IN ENGLEWOOD {ACE}:
l:.l.cJ : f.\ffilQSE: The Alliance C<:· Comm erce in Eng lewood (ACE) is established us no
advisory group to the City CouncU focused 011 the creation of an environment in which existing
business can thrive and new business can prosper The quality of life cgjoye:i by the resident s of
Env lcwood is directly impacted by the vitality of the bwdness co mmunity . ACE will strengthen
the Englewood community by su pponing the business community that creates jobs invests
capi tal nod adds to the ens:rgy of our local economy while maintaining our environment and
lifes tyle ACE will link the City nod the Eng lewood bus iness comrnunily fostering method s or
success ful in1erac1i on through improved communication more efficient focus and overa ll
en han ce ment of the local economy as well as providing a condu it for outreach to other
urgnnization s and a regional focus

HH: COMPOSITION AND MEMBERSHIP: ACE will be comprised of seven P)
members appointed by City Council
Business ownership and/or management and commercial property ownership and/or
management shall be a requirement for membership without regard to residency A
diverse sroup of re presentation is desirnblc and may come from retail Qfli"-llld
industrial sectors including at least one member from the Greater Enplcwood Chamber of
Commerce membership The City Council shall make appointments to fill vacancies for
unexpired terms Council shall consider input as to potential appointees from staff ACE
and the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce
l.:JH: TERMS OF M~~ lnitiDlly the terms shall be as follows· two (2) members
shal l be appoin!ed to a te1m of one (I) year two f2) members shall be appointed to a tcnn of1wo
(2) ycara · and three (3) members shall be appointed to a teon of three (3) years Thereafter
members shall be appoinr~·~erlapping tenns of three (3) years
~-The members of the ACE shall serve witho ut compensation .
Reasonable expenses directly reJated to nerfoouing the duties of the ACE shall be

cJH: POWERS AND DUTIES :
The Alliance for Commerce in Englewood (ACE) shall have the following powers and
duties :
~-Provide input or ana lysis on economic impuc1s on the business di st ricts of the City .
~. Review of City regulntions and nolicies to provide input on rcyuhuory impacts to the
business community .
~. Consider community issues for no1cn1ial implemcnunion in community development
octjyjtjes.
~. Work collaboratively with City staff to obrnin reasonable and crentive problem solving
for the bcncnncn l of the commercial interests in Ensle\l!M .
~. In cooperation with the Cily work to enhan ce the image of the business district, in the
City through combined marketing programs and imnge enhancement cumpa isn1 .
~ A11iat the City in expanding outreach oppnnunities including work with other
orsanizations and regional issues .
