BACKGROUND , ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED
Th e ori ginal house was built in 1864. The prope rty in qu es ti on is loca ted on Lo ts 16 and 17 o f th e
Subdivision , w hich was platted in I 26 . Th e ea st 30 fe et of Bann o ck Str eet was dedica ted as par:
of the Ske rr itts Additi on Filing No. 3. Th e right-of-way dedicated captures th e fr ont of th e bu ilding.
Th e owner wis hes to stabi li ze and rehab ilitate th e bui lding that been damaged over tim e due to the
elemen ts and neg lect. Beca use th e front of th e building enc roaches into city ri gh t-of-way, on ly City
Council can approve th e required encroac hm ent ag ree ment
The 60 feet of right-of-way that ex ists for Bann ock Str ee t is suffi cient. The re is appr,,ximately 3 feet
of righ:-of-wa y ava il able behind th e bac~ of wa lk, and at th e closest point the build i 1g si ts 2.6 fee t
fr om th e sidewalk. Staff does not foresee any improvemen ts. projects, or programs that would
necessi t,1te remov in g or modi~•ing th is res id ence if it is all owed 10 be improved and stabilized.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
It will cos t approxi matel y S4 0 to re cord the Encroachment Agreement and the Ordinance.
