WHEREAS, the S water Fund was established in 1985, to provide system maintenance, NPDE penn.ittmg plan reviews and field locates but did not provide for major capital improve me n ts and rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, the Lnglewood Utilities Department conducted an inventory study of the City's storm sewer system a nd found a storm sewer line in the 1400 through the 2400 blocks of West Dartmouth Avenue in need of rehabilitation; and WHEREAS. the existing storm sewer has experienced degradation to a level that immediate rehabilitation is necessary since the lower portion of the line ia oompletely disintegrated; and WHEREAS, in January 2000, the Cicy Council granted approval for profeBBiona] design services to pr epare a complete set of construction drawings for the Dartmouth Avenu.e Storm Sewer Rehabilitation Project; and WHEREAS, a rate increase was deemed necessary to finance the revenue bonds isaued for the Dartmouth Avenue Storm Sewer Rehabilitation Project; and WHEREAS, cunent funda are not adequate to meet proposed bond obligationa; and WHEREAS, this Ordinance would increase fees to finance the revenue bonds issued for the Dartmouth Avenue Storm Sewer Rehabilitation Project; NOW , THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAlNED BY THE CITY COU CIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS: ~-The City C<' ,cil of the City of Englewood, Colorado hereby author izes amending Title 12, Chap~ , Section 6, of the Englewood Municipal Code 2000, to read ae follows : 12-5-4: User Fees. E. The Englewood City Council hereby gives approval for establishment of the fo llowing Storm Water Users fees : Single-Family Re si dential: Flat rate chal'l!e of Slll !le Ua.e eight) cent!! RECOMMEND ED ACTION The tilities staff re commends Council app roval of a rate increase to fina nce the cons truction of the Dartmouth Avenue Storm Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The bill will be $16.66 per residence per ea r. A il other property classes I ill be $0.00554 per square foot of Impervious area .
