STATE AUTHORIZ QUASI-GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES OR SPECIAL
DISTRICTS .
WHEREAS , it would be of mutual benefit for the City of Englewood and. other cities,
Stete authorized quasi-governmental agencies 'and special diatrictil to lhare tbe uae of
certain vehicles and equipment; and
WHEREAS , the need for such vehicle or equipment sharing ollen uilea with ehort
notice or on an emergency basis ; and
WHEREAS , when a vehicle which is needed for a scheduled activity or emergency
services is not operable, an equipment sharing procedure would allow the City to
borrow the needed equipment on a short term basis; and
WHEREAS , ii would benefit the City of Englewood and ita citizena to authorize the
City Manager or designee to approve the eharing of vehicles and equipment on an aa
needed basis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD , COLORADO , AS FOLLOWS :

RECOMMENDED ACTION
Staff recommends that Council adopt a Bill for an Ordinance which would authorize the
City Manager or deslgnee to approve the sharing of City vehicles and equipment with
other governmental and quasi-governmental agencies on an as needed basis .
BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED
From time to time, the City and nearby governmental units could benefit from the
emergency sharing of vehicles and/or equipment in order to timely perform the
necessary functions of their respective agencies .
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There could be potential savings from a sharing of eq~lpment as opposed to short-term
rental.
