DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY JOINT FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR WATER RESOURCCS INVESTIGATIONS." WH~R¥3, 'the City Collncil of tho City of Englewood approved a Joint Funding Agreement between th• U.S . O.Ological Survey by the psssage of Ordinance No. 20, Series of 1996, Ordidence No. 87, Series of 1997 and Ordinance No. 5, Series of 1999; and WHEREAS, stream flow gages located on the Sout!:i Platte River, are operate and maintained by the U.S . Geological Survey; and WHEREAS , the City of Englewood shares in the annual coat of operating and maintaining the station on a 50/50 basis, with the U.S.G.S.; and WHEREAS, this Ordinance will renew the "Joint Funding Agreement For Water Resources Investigations" in the amount of $4,750 .00 from the Englewood Utilities Department and authomes new joint funding for the period of October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000 ; and WHEREAS, the cost to the Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant is $13,420; and WHEREAS, under the Joint Funding Agreement the cost is split 50/50 with the City of Littleton; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD. COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS : ~-The intergovernmental agreement "U.S. Department Of-i'he Interior U.S. Geological Survey Joint Funding Agreement For Water Resources lnvestigationa", for the period of October 1, 1999 to September 30, 2000, attached hereto as "Exhibit A," is here by accepted and approved by the Englewood City Council. ~-The Mayor is authorized to execute and the City Clerk to attest and seal the Intergovernmental Join ~ Funding Agreement For Water Sources Investigations for and on behalf of the City of Englewood, Colorado. The following amounts shall be contributed to cover all of the cost of the necessary field and anaJytlcaf work directly related to this program . (a) $16,780.00 by the party of the first part during the period October 1, 1999 to September 30, 2000 (b) $18 ,170.00• by the party of the second part during the period October 1, 1999 to September 30, 2000 • $1,390.00 unmatched runding (c) Additional or reduced amounts by each party during the above period or suc ceeding periods as may be determ ined by rr.,,·,al agreement and set forth in an exchange of letters between the parties . 3. The costs of this ;irJgram may be paid by either party in conformity wilh the laws and ragulattons respectively govern ing each pa . iy. 4. The field and anulytlcal work pertaining to this program shall be under the direction of or subject to 1)6riodlc review by an authorized rep ·esentative of the party of the first part . • 5. The areas to be Included in the program shall be determined by mutual agreement between the parties hereto or tneir autnorized representatives . The methods employed in the field and office shall be those adopted by the party ol the first part to Insure the requ ired standards of accuracy subject to modification by mutual agreement. • 6. During the course of this program, all field and analytlcal work of either party pertain ing to tr•s program shall be open to the inspection of the other party, and if the wcrk Is no1 being carried on in a mutually satisfactory manner, al1her party may terminate th is agreement upon 60 days written notice to the other party. ~. The orig inal records resulting from this program will be deposiled in the office of origin of those records. Upon request, copies of the original records will be provided to the office of the other party. 8. The maps , records or reports resulting from this program shall be made available to the public as promptly as poss ible. The maps, records or reports normally will be pub lished by the party of the first part. However, the party ol the second part ri.serves the right to publish the results of this program and , ~ already published by the party of the first part shall . upon re-1uest , be furnished by the party of the first part, at cost, Impressions suitable for purposes of reproduction sin,'lar to that for which the original copy was prepared . Payments of bills are due within 60 days after the billing date . If not paid by the due date, :aterest will be charged at the cunent Treasury rate for each 30 day period , or portion thereof, that the payme nt is delayed beyond the due date . BACKGROUND, ANAL '!SIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED In cooperation with the U.S.G.S. and Urban Drainage , the City of Englewood cont!i butes 50% ol the cost of maintaining the flow gauge al Union Av enue and the flow gauge and water quality monilor at the Littleton/Eng lewood Wastewater Treatment Plant. The U.S.'3 .S. funds th e other 50% of the cost . lnfonnatlon from this equipment is uaed to make calls for water releases from Chattlekf to maintain necessary levels al the Union Avenue reservoir and detennlne slate water quality penntt requirement for the Littletor✓Englewood Wast ewater Treatment Plant . FINANCIAL IMPACT The Englewood Utllllles Department cos1 of funding the Union Avenue station is $4,750 . The cost of the Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant Joint Funding Agreement, wh ich Includes the gauge and mo nitor, is $13,420. This cos1 is split 5(1'50 with the City of Littleton .
