WHEREAS, the City of Englewood off",._-iaJ ty adopted the 1990 Natlonal Electrical Code u its regulatory cod e for electrical equipment and wiring inatallations; and WHEREAS, certain provisi ons within th e 1990 Natlonal Electric Code now requiTe amendments to ins ure con sistent and. no nconflicti ng application of th e Code ; and WHEREAS, adoption of the Natio nal Electrical Code, 1993 Editio n shall provide for the health, safety a nd we lfare of Englewood citizen s; and WHEREAS, the City Division of Buildi ng and Safety staff have thoroughly reviewed the 1993 edition of the Nation al Electric Code 1111d recommend adopt',on thereof subject to certain ex!:e ption s, modification& an9 amen dm ents; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAI NED BY ':'HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, THAT : Swilm..l. Title 8, Chapter 2 , Article D, olthe Englewood Municipal Code 1985, is hereby amended and shall read a s follo ws : 8-2 D-l : CODE ADOPTED:1There is hereby adopted by reference thereto, the National Electrical Code, 199&-1993 Edition , together with a p pendices contained therein, and the Un iform Adm inistrative Code provisions for the Na ti onal Electrical Cod e ¼99&-1993 Edi•J on, published by th e National Fire Protection Association , Batteryman:h Park, Quincy, Massachusetts, 02269, with the same fon:e and effect as if the same were full y set forth herein, s ubj ect to the exceptions, modir.,ation s and amendments set forth in Section 8-2D-2 of this Article. The Clerk shall maintain at all time s copies of the Code available for purchase by th e publ ic at reasonable price . UAC P-NEC , section 304 (b) of Chapter 3, PLAN REVIEW FEES. PREVIOUS <XXl'la. ACl10N Ordinance No. 22, series 1990, adopted the 1990 National Electrical Code. BAO«lRO(,N) The State of Color !ado has recently adopted tne 1993 edition of the National Electrical Code as the State's m inimum standard for electrical work. This proposed ordinance will bring Englewood 's electrical code standards into conformance with State standards . The administration of the Code remains the same as with previous editions. STAFF ANALYSIS In order to ensure that Englewood's standards for electrical work match State standards, it is important that our codes reflect the same verbiage and standards as those codes laid out by the State . The proposed ordinance will accomplish this. Fl"IANClAl.lMPACT There is no impact or change to the current fee structure. •
