HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994 Ordinance No. 026ORDINANCE NO.& SERIES OF 1994 BY AUTHORITY COUNCIL BILL NO. 29 INTRODUCED BY COUNCIL MEMBER HATHAWAY AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 5 , CHAP'l'ER 2B, SECTION 8, PARAGRAPH C, OF THE ENGLE~VOO D MUNICIPAL CODE 1985, ALWWING AMUSEMENT CENTERS OR ARCADES TO TRANSFER LOCATIONS BY FILING AN APPROPRIATE APPLICATION AND PAYING A LICENSE TRANSFER FEE. NO LICENSE ISSUED UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL BE TRANSFERABLE TO ANY OTHER WCATION IN THE CITY WITHOUT MAKING AN APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER AND PAYING THE APPLICABLE TKANSFER FEE. PREVIOUS COUNOL ACTION None . BACKGROUND The changes included in the attached ordinance were developed by the Fina,.1cial Services Staff and the City Attom~y . The intent of the changes is to allow amusement centers or arcades to transfer locations by filing an appropriate application and paying a license transfer fee . The license transfer application and fee are addressed in Chapter 1 of Title 5 (Ge neral License Provisions). The fee is $25. Without this change, a business would ha ve to file for a new license and pay all applicable fees . STAFF ANALYSIS Staff believes the proposed change will benefit amusement center and arcade li cense holde rs by allowing them to transfer locations without the added expense of a new license.
