AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 12, OHAPl'ER lB, SECTION 7, OF THE
ENGLEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE 1985 PERTAINING TO RESTRICTING THE
NUMBER OF USERS ON ANY ONE WATER AND SEWER SERVICE.
WHEREAS, in the put probleDII have ariNn which were cauaed by a property
bein& oubdlvlded with lot. lllid oeparately without water and -amv!CN being

RECOMMENDED ACTION
The Water and Sewer Board, at their November 12, 1996 meeting, 1'11\.."0mmended Council
approval of ttle ordinance change 12-1 B-7 : Number of Users on Service estricted .
BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED
Problems have arisen in the past tnat were caused by a property be ing subdivided and sold
separately without water and sewer services being separated . The proposed ordinance
change would insure that if a property were subdivided, water service would also have to be a
separate serv il;B , with the lines not crossing any adjoining property . The ordinance would
allow exceptions to be granted by the Director of Utilities with the concurrence of Iha Water
and Sewer Board .
Existing properties will be allowed to maintain their current service configurations unless, in
the opinion of the Director of Utilities and the Water and Sewer Board, there is reason for the
services to be separated.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None .
