HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007 Resolution No. 002• • • RESOLtrnON NO. lb_ SERIES OF 2007 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE BULLETIN BOARD ON THE NORTII SIDE OF TIIE SECOND FLOOR OF THE ENGLEWOOD CIVIC CENTER AS THE OFFICIAL POSTING PLACE FOR ALL LEGAL NOTICES OF TIIE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD FOR 2007 . WHEREAS, the "Open Meetings Law", Colorado Revised Statute §24-6-402(2)(c) requires that the public place or places for posting legal notices shall be designated annually at the local public body's first regular meeting of each calendar year. NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO , TIIAT: ~-The official posting place for all legal notices of the City of Englewood for the year 2007, shall be the Bulletin Board on the north side of the second floor of the Englewood Civic Center and such notices shall be posted under the heading "OFFICIAL CITY NOTICES ." Elli s, City Clerk COUNCIL GOAL AND PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION On January 9, 2006 City Council designated the bulletin board on the north side of the second floor of the Englewood Ci vic Center as the Official Posting Place for all Legal Notices of the City of Englewood for 2006. RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve a Resolution designating the bulletin board on the north side of the second floor of the Englewood Civic Center as the Official Posting Place for all Legal Notices of the City of Englewood for 2007 . BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED The OPEN MEETINGS LAW, State Statute§ 24-6-402 (2) (c) states that "a local public body shall be deemed to have given full and timely notice if the notice of the meeting is posted in a designated public place within the boundaries of the local public body no less than twenty-four hours prior to the holding of the meetinl!-The public place or places for posting such notice shall be designated annually at the local public body's first regular meeting of each calendar year."
