7. Unscheduled Visitors
(a) S. Klaus said he 'd like to talk about the animal control and licensing proposition
that he read about in the Herald . He stated ii was not in this week's Hcnld, but a week ago, where Council
talked about charging five to ten dollars an animal. Do you undrntand, be askod, how this would impact
elderly people and their budgets. Take me for example, there are eight tioy reindem at ten dollars I head,
that 's eighty. He advised there', Rudolf, there ', ninety, there', my cat Asparagus, or Gus as she like$ to be
called, there 's a hundred, and then we 'vc got Maud. Mr. Klaus stated we don't know what kind of dog she
is but she 's ,wee~ and she 's big and gold. He s■id we 've gut my little blind Border collie, so, there's one
hundred and twenty bucks . That doesn't count the raccoons that live under the woodpile and the skunks,
the red fox , the Canadian geese and everything else I have that wande , < through my yard. So , I'd like to
proteSI this annual fee . Now if it was a one-time sho~ okay. I know pan of it w■s to keep 1I11Ck of shots,
but believe me, l have a vet that sends me a real regular notice on whether I need to get my dogs shots. So,
he said, that's about all I have to say and I'm open to questions .
Mayor Bmdshaw asked if there arc any questions for S. Klaus.
Counci l Member Yurthick as:Ced what 's the limit on reindeer in Englewood. Mayor Bradshaw said she
doesn't know if the commir,ee addressed 1hat. S. Klaus said that it was not addressed in the ordinance .
Ma yor Bradshaw advised that Council would take his concern under advisement.
S. Klaus proceeded to hand out candy to Cour.:il and wish everyone a Meny Christmlls .

Mayor Bradshaw asked Mr. Penn and his captains to come forward . She said she didn'l know if any of you
watched the high school team this year, but it was 011c heck of a good group of people. Mayor Bra<bhaw
read the proclamation in its entirety . There was a round of applause .
Mr. Penn thanked everyone and said the~ guys arc the ones that do all the work and I just get to go along
for the ride most of the rime . He snid it's been a pleasure to be in Englewood for the last twenty-eight
years .

COUNCIL MEMBER WOLO SYN MOVED, AND IT WAS SECONDED, TO ACCEPT THE
RESIGNATION OF DAVID WEBER FROM THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION.
Council Member Wolosyn stated that David Weber has been around for eight years and he is somebody I
met when I first became: involved in the City and I think wt m losing a really wonderful citizen. She said
it was his idea to make our depot look like the old depot Md he was always coming up with new idef.s. Ms.
Wolosyn said she is .sorry that he is leavin g.

stated she has no problem with that. Council Member Wolosyn said she feels comfonable with that also .

(a) City Manager Sean said be wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays and abo In say
lhanks to the staff and to Council. He stated we 've bad a really, really positive and successful year this lut
year. I think we've accomplished a great deal and we have a lot on the table coming in January. Mi. Sears
advised there will be many busy session, coming up and, just ;u 11 reminder, we'll be putting those togethei .
(b) City Manager Sear, said I also want 10 say that over the nex< couple of weeks our •
organization may be a little bi t lean because of the holidays. When I'm not here, he said, Assistant City
Manager Flaherty will be in charge of the City and we will keep the Cowicil informed . We will l,e
responsive, but I know, over the nex.t couple of weeks it may be a little bit lean in different places
throughout the City. He Silid conga,stularions for a great year and I hope everybody has a great holiday.
