Lacey, on behalf of Safely-Kleen Corporation. presented 10 Ma)'Or Bums, her company's Environmental Excellence Award for Cities. She pointed out tha1 Englewood is the second city in tho mtion to recei\'e this award. Ms. l..acey read the text of1he award in its entirety . She thanked the Mayor for !he City 's outstanding program . Ma)'Or Bums thanked Ms. Lacey and offered appreciatio n on behalf oftllc /'.:ity. · (c) Mayor Bums, on behalfofthe Clean. Green and Proud Com.mission. recognized Englewood fi refighters Miles Kubly and Marie Slout for their invaluable assistance with the 1995 Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Days. She said she had a dispute .,.;th her neighbor who docs not like chilchen IJld the neighbor called the polioc on her children three times last ycar . She explained that this happened on May 14~ when the ncighbo. threw a rodt over her fcoce, they got into a dispu1e. The neighbor called the City and now. she said . the c,, is IJ)ing to close her down as of May 31". Ms. Gatewood stated that she owns her home, her parents have helped her and that her Dad worlced for the EnglC'MlOd Fire Deparuncnt for 22 )'CVS. She sai d she would l'C3lly like to keep her license as this is how she makes a li,ing to suppon her kids and home.
