Additiona lly, because of th e Lim clincss of the issu e, staff seeks Counci l support~ by motion. to authorize the City Manage r to sig n and appro,-c the contra cts for thi s project in excess of $20,000 . Mr. Black agreed tluu is possible. Discussion ensued regarding lhe possibility or Cooncil acting on Council Member Waggoner's funding su ggestion during 1his special session . Mayor Gulley stntcd she would like 10 sec the proposal come back lo Council , witl-\'Crificd budget figures, as a formal recomme ndation . He discussed th e cost breakdown between the p.11 3 and driving range portion of the Golf Course Expansion , the expansio n an d impro\'cmcnts to the exi sting clubhouse and the cost of purchasing the lnnd . Director Black pointed out the importance of making a decision. as soon as poss ible. as to whethc1 lo proceed ,,i th lhe impro\'ements to the west side of the clubhoosc, because of bonding considerations and polcnlial disruption or lhc golf course operations. Mr . Black C.'Plaioed Iha! the architect made errors in estimating !he cost or diffcrcnl portions oflhe project. not in 1he design ; and lhat lhc architect and hi s company, Ohlson l..a\'oic Corporatio n. remain committed 10 the project . FolJO\,ing di-:cussion of the proposal to eliminate the imprcrrcmcnts to the west side of lhc clubhouse. staff was dirccicd to present to Council, as soon as possible, a recommendation to fund the improvements lhrough 1he Golf Course Fund . Appropriale finan cial impoct figures should be included. COUNCIL MEMBER HA TBA WAY MOVED, AND IT WAS SECONDED, TO APPROVE THE RE.11:CTION or ALL OF TH[ BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE ENGLEWOOD GOLF COURSE CLUBHOUSE EXPANSION . Motion carried Ayes : Cooncil Members Halhaway, Yormiuag, Wi ggi ns, Habc.n ichl, Waggoner, Bums, Gulley Nays : None COUNCIL MEMBER HATHAWAY MOVED, AND IT WAS SECONDED. TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AND APPROVE THE CONTRACTS FOR THIS PROJECT IN EXCESS OF 520,000 AND THAT THE CITY'S PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING DIVISION, WILL PROCEED WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS.
