It was confirnied this vacancy would be added to the other vacancies for which Council will conduct interviews in June. 9 . Public Hearing Mayor Wiggins announced the purpose of the public hearing is to gather input on Swedish Medical Center's Planned Development . Notice of the posting of the pr operty and legal publication of the public hear i ng was entered into the record. Planning Administrator Stitt presented background information regarding t he amendment to the Planned Development, which will allow a fourth medical office I bui lding . He stated the Plann i ng and loning Corrmiss1on held a public hearing and were reconvnending approval of the amendment with cer ta in cond i t io ns . Af t er reviewing t hose conditions with the departments of Community Developmen t and Publ ic Works , inc luding Engineering and Traffic d iv i si on s, and consult a - tion with 3wedish Medical Center, it is suggested that all 14 conditions be requ ired as part of the completion of the projl'c t. Staff was directed to review parking along the 3300 block of South Pennsylva- nia for 2-hour signage as a result of the proposed construction. (b) Director Barthlome presented a recomendation from the Administra • tive Services ' Procurement Div ision to approve the purchase of an offset pres s for the Print Shop for S20,107 from Dixon Graphic Product s . The advantages of the new equipment were enumerated by Hs. Barthlome , one of which i s in-house print i ng of The Citizen . I I I I Englewood City council "1nutes May 18, 1992 -Page 5 (d) Director Fonda presented a reco111111endatlon from the Bl-City Super - visory Conrnittee to approve a construction contract with CAS Construction for digester cover repair in the amount of $631,000. Mr. Fonda responded toques - t i ons concerning the collapse of the d i gester cover, and expla i ned the urgency of the proposed repair . He also provided information about the improbability of a future collapse. General D1scusston (a) Mayor's Choice (i) Mayor Wiggins reported on the Union DH dedication, urging council menbers to take a look at the conipleted daM. ( 11) He offend appreciation to staff, part 1cularly to Public Works personnel for the fine job perforaed during the May clean -up project. (111) He nquested that later in the -ting there be SOiie d1scus- s i on concerning the City's sponsorship of a candidate to the CNl becuttve Board. (b) Council Nllll,er's Choice (1) Council Me.,.r Gulley suggested, with regard to the May clean- up project, that next year notice be g1ven that th• project 1s for the benef i t of Englewood citizens, not for their friends and relatives who lille outside the city l1111ts . (11) Council Member Waggoner presented a resolution regarding the administrative costs be i ng absorbed by the City in Paving District No. 34/ Concrete Replacement District Ho. 1991 and Concrete Replace111ent District No. 1992. He explained he is propos l ng this resolution as a resu lt of much dis · cuss1on among council members and the members of the Concrete Task Force . She requested that some discussion take place in the future with regard to the City becoming responsible for the maintenance now provided to some Englewood citizens by the South Englewood Sanitation District No . l . She com- mented upon the number of calls she had received in this regard. City Attor- ney DeWitt assured her that this matter is being rev iewed; further, that re - moval of those propert i es from the Di strict will solve the problem. 2. Hs . Habenicht advised Council she Is interested i n being a candidate for the Col or ado Municipal League Executive Board, and she requested Counc 11 's support . (iv) Council Mellber Hathaway: 1 . She reported upon Congress■a.n Schaefer's award ceremony which she recent- ly attended, and she expressed concern t.hat Englewood students were poorly represented In this progru. She requested that the School/City C01111ittee discuss this utter and perhaps encourage better p1rtlclp1tlon of Englewood students 111 the future. She enuanted the advantages and growth potent hl for the students who becoae Involved. Z. She advised Council that she had participated In the recent Kops 'n Kids annu1l event. She encouraged council aellbers to becOM .,re Involved 1n this worthwhile progru. (v) Council Netnber Yan Dyke: 1. She suggested that the Code Enforcement Officers should provide better information on the parameters of weed violat 1~ns. 2. She requested that more 1110ni tor1ng be provided on Vassar and Hills Ide as It hills been reported to her th1t semi tr1il ers are using these res !dent ial streets. (vi) Council Member Bullock withdrew his candidacy to the Colorado Municipal League Executive Board. He encouraged Mayor Wigg i ns to attend the I entire conference an d, if that is no t poss ibl e, he felt one of the new council I members should attend. Mayor Wiggins stated at the present time he plans to attend one day only . Council Members Gulley and Wagg oner both declined due t o previous commitments. Under the circumstances, Hr . Bullock stated he wou l d at t end the co nfe rence as alternate City representative to CHL. He requested fundi ng i n the amount of S410 .
