Ordinances, Resolutions and Motions (a) Acting Director Romans, Community Development, presented a recom- mend ati on from the Planning and Zoning :omm i ssion lo adopt a bill for an or - dinance vacating a portion of th,: public right-of-way in th e 3500 block of South Jason Street. She explained t he background of the agreement between Pennant Propertie s, Inc., and the Englewood Urban Renewal Authority for the development of th e Park Floral site . She stated the vacation is 60' in width with the west 43' to be as s i gne d to Pennant Propert i cs , In c . , and the east 17 ' assigned to Madison Pizza Corporation and Cyclops Corporation. The Technical Review Committee has reviewed the matter and reco mme nd s that ea se ments be re- ta ined in the right-of -way for utility and ve hicular access. Clayton Council Members Silo, Van D.·ke None None (c) A request for a special appropriation of Sl ,000 to send two spon- sors to the National Law Enforcement Explo rers Conference in Boston was pres - ented by Police Chief Holmes . Chief Holmes re sponded lo questions of Council. The funding source was discussed . Chief Holm es confirmed that the monie s cou 1 d be a 11 ocated from the Po 1 ice Budget. Habenicht, Clayton, Van Dyke None None None (ii) Counci 1 Member Kozacek requested the City Manager to provide more advance notice and information to Counc i 1 when presenting items for their consideration in order that the Council Members may better evaluate the i nformation . (iii) Council Member Bilo requested the City Manager to state what concerns he may have as a result of Council tabling the resolution amending the Public Improvement Fund. Mr. Mccown did not feel that any of the six - quarter projects would be in jeopardy if the matter can be consid~red at the next Council meeting. It was suggested that more effort me made to include di scussion of these matters at the study session . (iv) Council Member Koltay volun t eered to assist in preparing a 1 et ter to be sent to the Englewood High Schoo 1 Student Counc i 1 concerning parking enforcement in the area surrounding the hig l, school . He explained that the daytime and night-time parking is proving to be a problem for the neighbors in the area and that stricter enforcement may be necessary. 15. Adjournmer,~.
