In I return for that assurance, he requested that the City allow him to have space within a rea sonable dis tance of the statue for the purpo se J f di s playing and selling his art . He al so requ es ted that on an y reproducti on of his art , that hi s signature and logo be included in close pro ximity . Discu s sion ensued con - cerning the provisions of the agreement between the City and the Englewood Heritage Association. Council Member Hathaway confirmed that the City would be reimbursed by the Asso c iation for the cost of the pouring of the concrete and pedestal. Mr . Scott stated once again that if the Ass oc iation were unable to cover the reimbursem ent he would do so. (b) Anthony Jeffers , 4120 South Jason Street , appeared before Council. He stated he had been a lifetime resident of the City, and an employee of the Fire Department for 8-1/2 years. He pr e sented information to Council concern- ing the administration of the Fi re Depar t ment. Copies of his statemen t, which he read into the record of the meeting , were given to the Council Members. Mr . Jeffers responded to que s tions of various members of Council. In response to Mr . Jeffers conrnen t s , Council requested that Chief Broman be given the op- portunity to respond to Mr. Jeffers' written comments. Ordinances, Resolutions and Motions (a) Acting City Manager Vargas ~resented a reconvnendation from the Bi - City Supervisory Cammi t tee to a~prove the purchase of two dump truck glider kits in the amount of S42,JOO from Rocky Mo1,ntain International. These kits are to be used to refurbish and extend the working 1 ife of the vehicles. Mr . Vargas confirmed that the City solicited oids , how ever , only one bid was received . He stated the price quoted was cars i stent with previous purchases . COUNCIL MEMBER KOZACEK MOVED, COUNCIL MEMBEP. COUNCIL ME MBER KOLTAY MOVED TO AMEND THE RESOLUTION, THE THIRD WHEREAS TO READ AS FOLLOWS : "WHEREAS, CITY COUHc :• BELIEVES IT IS IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CITY TO SELL AND JWM TO PURCHASE THE PROPERTY FOR THE SUM OF EIGHT HUN- DRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($800,000) ; • MAYOR VAN DYKE SECONDED THE AMENDMENT.
