AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A PARCEL OF LAND, A
PERMANENT EASEMENT AND TWO TEMPORARY EASEMENTS LOCATED
ALONG WEST OXFORD AVENUE BY THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 8 5
(NATCHES COURT FRONTAGE ROAD ).
WHEREAS , the Colorado Department of Transportation wishes to purchase a
parcel ofland (Project No. FCU NH (CX ) 085-2(54) Unit 3 , Parcel No. 316 Rev.,
Project Code : 90049), a permanent easement and two temporary easements, from the
City of Englewood; and
WHEREAS, these purchases are necessary for the construction of State Highway 85
(Natches Court Frontage Road) said property is located along West Oxford Avenue in
Englewood, Colorado; and
WHEREAS , the Colorado Department of Transportation and the City of Englewood
have agreed that the Colorado Department of Transportation will pay $360 .00 for the
land and $100.00 , for the Easements for a total of $460.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Englewood , Colorado hereby approv es the
sale of the following parcel , easement and temporary easements , a description of
which is attached hereto a s Exhibits 1, 2 , and 3, to the Colorado Department of
Transportation for the construction of State Highway 85 (Natches Court Frontage
Road), said property is located along West Oxford Avenue in the City of Englewood ,
Colorado.
l. Parcel ofland No . 316 Rev. of the Department of Transportation, State
of Colorado , Project No . FCU NH (CX) 085-2 (54), Unit 3, Parcel No .
316 Rev., Project Code : 90049 , containing 519 square feet , more or less ,
in the NE 114 of the SW 114 of Section 4, Township 5 South, Range 68
West, of the Sixth Principal Meridian , in Arapahoe County, Colorado ,
s aid tract or parcel of land being more particularly described in t he
attached Deed. (Exhibit 1)
2. A permanent easement No. PE-316A, Project Code : 90049, of the
Department of Transportation , State of Colorado , Proj ect No . FCU NH
(CX ) 085-2 (54), Unit 3 , containing 364 square feet , more or less, in Lot
2 , SCIENTIFIC TRANSPORTATION FILING NO. 1 , a subdivision
lying in the NE 114 of the SW 114 of Section 4, Township 5 South,
Range 68 West, of the Sixth Principal Meridian, in Arapahoe County,
Colorado , said permanent easement being more particularly
described in the attached Permanent Easement. (Exhibit 2 )

subdivision lying in the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4, Section 4 , Township 5
South, Range 68 West, of the Sixth Principal Meridian, in Arapahoe
County, Colorado , said temporary eas ement being more particularly
described in the attached Temporary Easement . (Exhibit 3 )

COUNCIL GOAL AND PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
Council's goal is full cooperation with the Colorado Department of Transportation in the State Highway 85
improvements projects (Santa Fe).
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Staff recommends Council approval of a Bill for an Ordinance authorizing the sale of land to the Colorado
Department of Transportation for right-of-way and easement purposes.
BACKGOUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED
The Colorado Department of Transportation has made a request to purchase small parcels of land at the
Englewood Golf Course, along Oxford Avenue and on the Natches Court frontage, for use as right-of-way and
easements:
• 519 square feet for right of way for Natches Court
• 364 square feet for a permanent easement
• 845 square feet for two temporary easements
FINANCIAL IMPACT
COOT will pay Englewood $460 for the parcel and easements.
