Mayor Otis prest~ted a commendatory award to Mr . Pdul Gunby,
4881 South Ch e roke e Street, for his (Mr. Gunby) meritor ious action in
saving Pat Erickson from a perilous si tu ation .
Mr . Gunby a ccepte d th e a ward and thank ed Council f o r this re-

Mrs . June Hawkins, 4830 South Pearl , was present . Mrs . Haw kins
r eq uest ed a st r ee t ligh t be in stalled in th e middl e of the 4800 block of
So uth Pea rl. Mrs. Haw ki n s r e feren ced a petiti on previously submitted
wh ic h was signed by member s of t he area also reque st ing th e s treet light.
Mr s . Ha wkins stated th e onl y lights on the oppos ite of th e street were
t he building li g hts on th e Duncan Park building and we re inad e quate to
light the st re e t . Th e only street lights ar e at ea ch end of the block .

hood .
