c -nce rn i ng the p roposed 1984 budget . Mr . Va rg a s stated the budget r e -
f 1ec t e d a basic in flat iona ry adjustment . The 1984 mi l l levy will i n-
c r e a se 3 mills ov e r 1 9 83 be c aus e of th E e lec t o rate vo t e t o build a com -
munity c e n t e r. Mr. Va rg a s stated witho ut considering th e comm uni ty cen-
ter bo nd pr o ceeds r e c eived i n 19 8 3 , th e 1 984 bud ge t is 2.4% higher t h a n
t he 19 83 budget . Mr. Va rgas st ated sta ff is ask i ng for th re e new pos i-
tions in 198 4 whi ch are: 1 ) pe r son n el analyst , 2) sales tax au dito r , and
3) build i ng ma int e n a n ce s up erv i so r . Th e po l icy of maint ain in g a $1 mil -
lion fund b lance will be uph el d in 1 9 8 3 and in 19 84 .
Mr . Va rg a s st ated pr oj ects from th e public impr ovemen t fund
wo u ld ~e along Little Dry Creek, road a n d bridge , and landscaping for
Son ~a Fe a nd Ha mpden Avenue .
